Long rest or End Day?
I've been playing for about 8 hours straight today new character Drow Bard, problem is everyone is out of spells all short rests have been used up 4 hours ago. I'm unable to get the long rest to do anything, traveling to camp, clicking on bedrolls or the campfire doesn't seem to be doing anything, also my party keeps asking to end the day as everyone is at 1 to 5 hit points. Pretty darn annoying am I missing something?

End day? There is no Time in BG3. No day and night cylce either. Rest are endless available with little to no consequeces.

You should be able to use the bedrolls around the fire to sleep (long rest).
If you want to recover health, spells etc. then you need 10 food in your inventory for each party member.

Typically when people make comments like 'it's getting late' or 'we should end the day' kinda thing, it means there is a scene or conversation at camp. If it's a conversation there should be a yellow exclamation mark above someone's head. Scenes happen on sleeping.

If you're unable to long rest then you should probably try reloading an earlier save.
Also submit a bug report if you can, should be an option in the launcher.

The problem is it's not just the Drow Bard, created a Half-Elf Ranger & a Teifling Druid played each of them for 2 hours, everyone in the party has 40 camp supply's, plus apples, cheese & fish and the long rest button does nothing, fast traveling to camp, bedrolls & campfire does nothing.
I think I might need to do a repair on Baldur's Gate to see if I'm missing files from a previous patch or something.

I only do long rests by ending day,(there is a button for that) being teleported to camp area, speaking to all companions with exclamation points and then clicking on bedroll.

The end the day button on the circle around the mini map is blank all that is there is the journal quill, the campfire button to get short rest works, the long rest does nothing.

It is the same button as long rest, so bottom of screen right most button to open rest options: pick long rest it prompts a popup asking if you want to end the day. If your game doesn't behave like this, perhaps you should bring it up in bugs section?

Verify is good idea. Are you using any mods currently and have you used any in the past? Might be some left overs causing problems in that case.

No mods or any in the past all vanilla game, waiting till after game releases and 1 full play through before going the way of mods.
