And Vengeance
Oath of Devotion ♦ Oath of the Ancients ♦ Oath of Vengeance
I doubt we'll get more than two Oaths.
Vengeance is PHB and very popular. There is zero reason not to include it.
Yeah, but so is Devotion and Ancients, and with few exceptions, Larian seems to only be adding two subclasses per class, with the exception of Wizards and Clerics.
I hope we get far more subclasses, I'm just not holding my breath over it.
That isn't an 'exception'. There are only two Barb/Bard PHB classes for instance.
Again there is zero reason not to include the PHB Vegeance Oath. Especially when it fills the dark Paladin niche.
I'm just telling you that it is far more likely that, if they choose two at least for EA, it'll more likely be Devotion and Ancients.
I hope to get more, but I won't expect it right away.
And I'm telling you that you are wrong and have no idea what you're talking about. Cleric domains aren't an exception. Not including Vengeance would be the equivalent of no Trickery Domain. Which is in fact in the game.
Larian promised PHB. There no reason to believe Vengeance won't be in.
1 is saying EA Pala will have 2
The other is saying at full game launch 3
Both can be true
No, that poster is assuming non Wiz/Clerics are capped at two, when in reality, there are only two PHB sub classes by default for those other classes.
Paladin's have 3 PHB Oaths. There is ZERO reason to assume all three won't be included.
Haha calm down. Besides oaths not backed by a power set (deities, elements, planes, nature (at least Ancients is trying here), etc.) are stupid asf anyway. I'm going to make an oath of vengeance cuz my grandma died. Or I have wet dreams about world order. Poof Paladin powers. Sweet!
Ok big guy.
Then why isn't Champion in the game yet?
Assassin?
Archfey?
All I'm saying is that while Larian have promised that all PHB classes and subclasses will be in the game at release, they seem to be only releasing two subclasses per class with each patch, with the only exception being the Cleric (who got Trickery, Light and Life). Even the Wizard, who has 8 subclasses (schools of magic - not even counting Bladesinger and others), only got two (Abjuration and Evocation).
So when they release the Paladin in the next patch (if it even is the Paladin, and not the Monk), I am expecting them to release Devotion and Ancients. I mean, it might be Devotion and Vengeance. It's definitely going to be Devotion, for sure. And, if I had to bet, I would bet on Ancients as well, but who knows.
Regardless, I think we'll see two subclasses at first, and I'm putting my money on Devotion and Ancients.
By that argument Ancients is a glorified Druid. Herp derp, I can speak to animals even. yay At least bring a real argument.
Vengeance is teetering on the overly zealous Crusader type. Delivering perceived justice above all, which is a slippery slope.
If they're including Cleric domains like Trickery there isn't a good reason not to include all PHB Paladin Oaths.
Ok big guy. Why isn't level 5 in the game? Champion doesn't even get anything interesting until level 7
Disguise system not even implemented in the level 4 limited PR demo
Cleric is very similar to Paladin in terms of deity. Assassin being completely built around a disguise system isn't. So that isn't an argument whatsoever. Especially when we're talking about lvl 4 demo that Larian only updates after cosplay PR event.
I'm sorry but if you think they are releasing BG3 with only two schools of magic I don't even know what to say. A modder could whip those up in a day.
So your big argument is because it feels like ancients/devotion. Gotcha. Great logic.
