Paladin is Strenght/Charisma?
Likely use an all-rounder group: Paladin, Wizard/Warlock, Rogue, and something to fill whatever weaknesses are left.
Perfect MC.
You will Avenge those 2 dead Paladins at Hags house? :D
1/2 Wood Elf Sorlock with Devil's Sight and Ascendant Step (if they include it). Spell Sniper, Distant Spell, Eldritch Spear. Darkness. This character is flying artillery. Primary damage dealer. Eldritch Blast and Green Flame Blade if they include it.
1/2 Seldarine Drow Ancients Paladin/Conjurer Wizard, PAM + Sentinel, and Blind Fighting. This is the Sorlock's bodyguard. Spike damage, protection magic (focus on Conjuration and Abjuration, i.e. counterspell, dispel magic, teleportation, banishment, etc.)
Wood Elf Moon Druid/Thief Rogue. Focus on Lightning magic (Call Lightning), Moonbeam, Spike Growth, Thorn Whip, and Raven form. Debuff and damage over time (sustained DPR).
Wood Elf Hunter Ranger/Lore Bard. Support and ranged DPR. Would actually prefer something cooler, like College of Whispers (mods?), but I'll take Lore for now because don't really need Valor as a Ranger (already got medium armor prof, and heavy if I take Ranger Knight). Mostly this character will be supporting the Paladin and Druid with Inspiration and debuffing enemies with Vicious mockery. Will probably dual wield as well as wield a bow, although I don't know if I'll take Archery or Two Weapon Fighting style. Will likely take Sharpshooter (if I take Archery) and Skulker (regardless).
-----------
Some other parties I'd like to try:
An all Bard party. "The Band".
An all Sorlock party with Eldritch Spear, Spell Sniper and Distant Spell.
An all Rogue party that Sneak Attacks it's way through the game.
A party of undead raising Clerics.
An all Druid party who have Raven familiars and shapeshift into Ravens, with Call Lightning (this is my Norse Storm Witch build).
An all Paladin party, all Oath of Devotion and light/fire based spells. This is my Holy Inquisition party.
----------
I also really want to play a Bladesinger/Shadow Monk (although I'll probably need mods to do it), just not sure where exactly it fits in with another party yet.
Ideally, if all things will align, I will choose to tweak the game to play with a party of six characters (and maybe raise the difficulty to compensate) and fill the extra two slots at will, depending on what companions will be made available in the final game.
Maybe a bard and a paladin if an option.
No multiclassing, since it blows.
My first playthrough will probably be with origin characters only (thet's how I liked to play DOS2 better). I want to experience the most story interactions possible.
Once I want to make a fully created party, it will be:
Tank: Shield Dward Barbarian (meybe paladin on release)
Support: Gold Dwarf Light Cleric (maybe tempest on release)
Party face: Wood Half Elf bard
Lockpicker and pickpocket: Deep Gnome Abjuration Wizard (hot take - who needs to waste a slot on rogues)
My intention is to waste no good equipment at all. At lv 4, the cleric gets heavily armored. So:
Barbarian: great weapons and medium armor.
Cleric: 1h strenght weapon, shield and heavy armor
Bard: Light armor, finesse weapons and 1h crossbows
Wizard: cloth, staves, circlets
If barbarian becomes a paladin, cleric will use medium armor.
Yeah, I tested WAY too much stuff at early access already.
2. Shadowheart (Cleric)
3. Karlach (sp? Ranger - Dex based)
4. An origin character TBD. I don’t like Gale, but Wiz fits well.
2nd playthrough:
1. PC Gith Wiz
2. La’zael (Fighter)
3. Astarion (sp? Dex rogue)
4. TBD Origin Character - likely Karlach again.
2. fighter or barb (Most likely barbarian)
3. cleric or druid (I prefer druid, though if we can customize her, I'd be inclined to take shadoweart as life cleric)
4. Rogue or ranger (though most likely rogue, possibly ranged rogue)
So all in all rather classic d&d party composition.
