Only if they're reasonably developed and not the umpteenth throwaway thief that's only there as a filler pick.
have to lock in the choices later down the line anyway so. At least that's what they said before, hopefully they changed their minds.
I would think at full release choices of companions would double same as quests related to them more minor side quests for them not just one major one and be done with it as it's the old low effort standard.
In truth i don't exactly expect much from companions. At least nothing ground braking due to orgins but who know. Talking about recruiting enimies, 1 or 2 based on different background reasons could be a nice addition if done right. In dragon age you cound do that with one of your enemies. Wasn't done all that great if you ask me but at least it was a change from the standard so it got points for effort.
