That would make the most sense. Isn't that how they work in 5E?
The reason I ask, is due to how trivial the long rest system is right now.
A wand is kind of like a scroll gun - it has a 'magazine' of uses, and as long as you don't use the last one (not sure why this is a stipulation), then you get a reload every day.
With long rests being so plentiful and easy to get, I imagine that wands would be just one more thing that helps us steamroll all content in this game.
"This wand has 7 Charges. While holding it, you can use an Action to expend 1 or more of its Charges to cast the Fireball spell (save DC 15) from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend.
The wand regains 1d6 + 1 expended Charges daily at dawn. If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed"
Edit: basically swap out 'dawn' for 'long rest' and that would be the most RAW implementation of wands in BG3 (given the lack of a day/night cycle)
Yeah, no ♥♥♥♥ - so I wonder how Larian is going to homebrew them or keep them RAW. Given that Long Rest is in a bit of a weird spot with how freely available food is, it makes me wonder if wands will remain the same, or if they'll have wands at all (we already have the Raise Dead Wand from Auntie Ethel).
