He’s squishy. Make him Abjuration so he gets arcane Ward. Learn Armor of Agathis from a scroll, buy it from the gnome vendor in Druid grove.
Each day, cast Armor of Agathis for a 26HP shield that does 10 cold damage returned to attacker when hit.
It doesn’t take Concentration.
Isn't Armor of Agatha a Warlock spell?
Invisibility for infiltration, Misty Step for travel.
The rest doesn't matter, so whatever you want.
Yes.
But, unless something changed, wizards can learn any spell that’s on a scroll currently. I haven’t played in a bit so they may have changed it but I don’t think they have.
Afterwards, use magic missiles, Hold person, Cloud of daggers.
Another nice move is snagging the staff off the Hag and using the poison resist ring and the poison damage robes for a nice 2d8 + 1d4 + Poisoned cantrip.
I mean, that won't last, but you could take Magic Initiate: Warlock or multiclass into Warlock eventually...
I like to abuse the WET condition, along with casting Chromatic Orb (cold or electric versions). I use Raindancer or a bottle of water to impose wet.
I also like Sleep, Hold Person and Tasha's Laughter, especially if my party has two fighters who can take advatage of a disabled condition, to get a critical hit.
Cloud of Daggers can be great, especially if you can pull or push an enemy into the area.
Magic Missile is good for when you need an auto-hit, with Scorching Ray or Shatter for the damage. and Mirror Image for protection.
I probably need to find ways to use Fog Cloud effectively. I don't use Grease because that can be simulated with a grease bottle.
There are 2 items that stack together to deliver insane damage with this spell:
The Sapphire Spark necklace can be purchased from Blurg in The Underdark Mycoid Colony for about 2000 gold which is easily obtainable even at low levels simply by using an invisibility potion or spell to make your way there (and activate the way-point portal)
Poisoner's Robe drops from the Phase Spider Matriarch which is a pretty hard fight but you can cheese her by standing an invisible character on a web to lure her into a large collection of Smoke Powder/Oil Barrels (Steal these from the Zentrium storeroom in the Goblin Camp which can be cat-burgled into from the roof area.)
Casting level 2 Magic Missile with these items equipped is 100% hit chance regardless of penalties that does 4x(1d4+1)+4x1d4+8x1d4 damage.
He can 2-shot The Hag, Bulette and pretty much any other major fight in the current game.
I expect this to be nerfed in the next patch.
