Don't believe so. Not in EA anyway. At full release...maybe? Though I doubt it since there doesn't seem to be any in-game timer or specific dates for when we will definitely turn. Only thing that might happen is failing certain quests that are time sensitive.

I don't want to spoil the experience for you as what happens as you take multiple long rests is part of the story.

What I'll say is this, don't be afraid of the long rest button. Just think about whom you dream about and all will be made clear as you play the game moving forward and know, that as a protagonist in an RPG, something is special that is happening (and we don't actually have all the details of that in early access)

It's EA, so it's hard to say how the live game will handle this. But as it stands right now, you move the plot forward by resting and talking with your team mates at camp. Certain character stories seem to be linked to camp dialogue, so you might miss something if you somehow didn't go to camp often. I'm not sure it is possible to rest 'too much', at least in EA.

Hope there will be no game over at all and if I will turn to Illithid, the plot just let me play as a tentacle creature and destroy everything.

That would be interesting, with many far reaching and intriguing ramifications.

Don't want to spoil anything, but it's heavily implied this isn't a typical illithid parasite, so not sure that'll be an option in the game. But who knows, maybe.

Don't want to spoil anything, but it's heavily implied this ins't a typical infection, so not sure that'll be an option in the game. But who knows, maybe.
I am good to any result, I just don't want to have this concept in the game that would rush me to recover from the parasite. So it won't happen like I waking up in the camp one day and get a game over title because I was very slow looking for ways to heal or I visited camp very often and died from brain damage.

I could see something happening later in the game where something like that might happen as part of the story, but not sure about a straight up game over. And as far as actual EA goes, no you're good.

I wouldn't worry regardless. I get the impression this is going to be much more like typical RPGs where it's all about telling the story. Even when there's references to limited time as part of that story, I'm currently doubting the game is gonna have a lot of excessive time constraints related to the main plot like you'd see with PF: WotR or PF: Kingmaker.

Not sure how it was on Kingmaker, but I don’t remember such thing in WotR, there are not any time limits and if you lose at global map you just be blocked for some content but actual game over will be if you and squad mates die in battle.

From the time I've played so far there seems to be no game over linked to over resting, In fact it seems the more you rest and use the tadpoles power the more it hints to opening more choices in the story not only for your character but your companions as well.

Death by over resting sounds a bit complicated, remember this will end up on console.
As this is Baldur's Gate 3 and Baldur's Gate games are about you and your 'daddies offspring,' maybe if you're lucky he'll resurrect, kill the parasite and you'll get to face off against him for creating you.
Or maybe it will just ignore the point of the BG games as too inconvenient and kill you for resting lol.
