Any Bards here also started with a Lyre?

When making my long awaited bard unit
i was quite suprised when we have options on musical instruments...

I cant help but pick Lyre since when i saw the word "Lyre" I immediately recall the Greek Myth of Orpheus


the Bard whose wife Euridyce died, and went to the underworld to appeal for Hades and his wife Persephone to return Eurydice. Hades goes "nah mate. i'll take her as one of my many brides". and Orpheus played his sad song which made Persephone cry and she told her husband to let Euridyce go... which Hades did under one condition, he should walk in front of her and not look back until they both had reached the upper world.

Orpheus set off with Eurydice following; however, as soon as he had reached the upper world, he immediately turned to look at her, forgetting in his eagerness that both of them needed to be in the upper world for the condition to be met. As Eurydice had not yet crossed into the upper world, she vanished for the second time, this time forever.


and he was so depressed that he played his Lyre in despair which brought calamity and death... like crops withering, animals dying from sadness and many villagers ending themselves from listening to his songs of despair... until a bunch of greek women rallied together and butchered him to end the calamity.

I always start with the violin, I'm not much a fan of the other instruments. It would be cool if we could get a harp.

I started with a lyre because I had hoped it would be closest to a harp--sadly it wasn't close enough for me.

I went Violin. Not because its the default, but because i think it looks the most nifty when playing. And it takes up the least amount of space on my back, so I can still see most of my character.

I did choose the Violin too. It's my second favorite Instrument after the hurdy-gurdy.
