Black Screen, but UI visible

Deleted all mods, updated drivers, verified files, no dice.

When I enter the game, the UI shows up, but the background is a black screen and there's no music. I try to press new game despite the black screen of death behind it and it won't load. Everything else works; the options, settings, multiplayer, etc., but the game itself won't start. Currently seeing if uninstalling will get it to do anything, but otherwise it's not working.

Alright; so if anyone has this problem, uninstalling didn't work. BUT creating an entirely new profile somehow did. The best I can assume is that there's something wrong or glitching within the code of my original profile/account from the mods I'd place previously that didn't become clean after a fresh restart. So if anyone else is having this problem, go ahead and try this.

I got it after one of my companions started a event. For me it fixed in a way that i quick save on black screen. Closed the game fully. Then load up the quick save. I heard that changing video setting can fix it too. Option menus should work even in that bug.

I HAD TO CLEAR ALL MY SAVED GAMES AND BEGIN FRESH. AND IT WORKS FINE NOW

I had this issue and tried everything...verified the files, reinstall, created a new profile, etc. In the end what fixed it was bumping down the graphics from ultra to high. I have a top of the line graphics card and it can handle ultra but apparently my monitor cant.

had the same problem right now, if someone might have the same problem after switching systems, you could try to change to vulkan(in the launcher), it worked for me!
