Laptops are not made for gaming, BG3 will literally fry your computer. Try stadia instead if you have a good internet

I don’t have any issues running BG3 on my Laptop, but I have a very high-end machine with 64GB of RAM. I don’t know about a MAC though.

Later I will update to M1max, but now I want to resolve the issue with this game and this laptop. the work is remote, I got used to the apple system, because MB air, I didn’t immediately take a powerful one, because I wanted to try out the ARM architecture,
sorry for long description))
You bought a laptop for posing not gaming

Thanks! your answer is the only one on the topic. This helped me, by the way, I play with pleasure.

to all the rest: I did not raise the question "can I play on the MacBook Air" I asked how to set it up, you do not need to answer a question that you were not asked.

These guys are dorks. Its 2023, you can play games on a laptop just fine.
Anyway, how is the performance on your M1 macbook air?
I have a good PC at home, so I thought that it’s better not to torment the macbook)) without 1080 it’s not interesting to play, but without anti-aliasing and with a low resolution, you can play on mac, but why? the game is beautiful

Uncomparable games. Those are lightweights compared to BG3.

Except no, not really. Firstly, you're going to be spending $4k on such a laptop and then you're still going to get a subpar experience compared to a desktop. Not only do laptops suffer from thermal issues, loudness, and lifetime issues (as well as battery life issues) but that 4090 in the laptop isn't the same as the one in a desktop. The laptop 4090 is remarkably slower than the desktop version of the card. The laptop version is about 25% to 30% slower, sometimes a little faster, and sometimes much slower than that.

Gaming laptops aren't that great.

Wtf who is comparing things here and why are you telling something which common knowledge we are talking about if now days laptop can run Bg3 or not and the answer you know it Bg3 does not take things like rtx 4090 to run your game

You were the one who brought up the 4090 as some kind of indicator that gaming laptops are good. They aren't. Sure you can put a card in it called a 4090, but that isn't the same card - as explained.

So sure, you can spend $4k-$5k to have a laptop that runs the game at half the framerate as as a much cheaper desktop and has the added bonus of wearing out twice as fast also and has virtually no replaceable parts. Is that good? I don't think so. YMMV.

And, incidentally, this thread isn't about whether or not laptops can run BG3. Of course they can, to some degree - but considerably worse than a similarly priced desktop. In fact, the thread is about whether or not an Air M1 can run BG3, so the entirety of the posts post-necro are pointless in any case.

The OP already took the sensible route and decided to game on the desktop.
