If 6th edition is released after 2023, then yes, Baldur's Gate 3 will be released before 6th edition.
Almost nobody wants that.
Really? I haven’t experienced that in my circle, but maybe there have been polls to which I am unaware.
It saddens me that I see mods that have armor that looks a thousand times better then the in game stuff.
- 5e has very very little mechanical implementation of alignment (a few class abilities [e.g., divine sorc], artefact level magic items and some sentient magic items, and some monsters [e.g., raksaha are vulnerable to piercing damage dealt by good aligned characters])
- alignment systems in video games tend to be quite restrictive compared to table top since a human DM is able to take context into account
- Alignment hasn't been removed, just de-emphasized. The core books (PHB, DMG, and MM) and supplements from at least Tasha's onward) are setting agnostic and thus have dropped references to races tending to by any particular alignment (more so in the cases of player character races) as that is a setting specific thing (see orcs in FR vs Greyawk vs Ebberon).
- DMs are (and always have been) free to increase or decrease the importance of alignment as works for them/their group. WotC isn't going to kick down doors because someone wants all orcs to be evil.
I run a much darker campaign world than the standard and it is more along the lines of a Robert E. Howard world than the fluffy rainbow worlds of WotC. I rarely run 5E, but when I do I simply modify the rules to taste.
HEYOOOOOOOOO!
