It's one of my favorite games of all time.
How many times have you replayed the same content? You don't feel like the experience will be spoiled once the full game is released?
I read the store page and listened to interviews by Swen, the creative director and had set my expectations about what I was getting accordingly.
Larian also has a reputation with their previous two early access games, so they have already established their early access model and anyone who knows about it knew exactly how this would play out.
Swen had said repeatedly that if people wanted the full experience that they should NOT buy into early access. In fact, he specifically said they don't add any incentives to it to encourage people to buy in early. No cheaper price, no pre-order bonuses, nothing. They only wanted a lot of people just playing the game as that would find a lot more problems than the QA team would, and would give them valuable feedback on what players want so they could implement it before the game was released.
I don't regret buying the game in early access at all, but I also do not recommend it to people who want a polished and complete experience.
Dozens, I've played nearly every possible race/class combo.
And no, this game is SO much bigger than what's available during EA. We're only getting a very tiny portion of the full game, and even some of it will likely change by the time it releases, so there will be some new surprises even in the old content.
Here's the thing though: I enjoy giving developers feedback and seeing a game develop. Also, I know my limits. I'm one of those people who get burnt out easily if I play the same thing over and over again. So I played it through only a few times and only hop on again to see the new updates.
So, if I were you I'd focus more on what you are actually getting from the EA and if that's something you'd enjoy. The game is enjoyable, but if you are looking for a full, turn-based experience and only that, then I would wait.
It's going to come out, one way or the other. So you're gonna wait no matter what. Just a matter if you enjoy the EA side of things and if Larian has provided enough evidence to warrant an EA purchase.
I didnt make the same mistake with BG3 and did a shallow playthrough where I mostly just tried the new systems and even purposefully avoided areas to "save" them for the full release.
These type of games I end up restarting the first part multiple times anyway, so this'll save me some time when the full game comes out. Maybe :)
I wouldn't be worried about being spoiled. I played DOS 2 during early access, and at it's full release, there were both alot of things that were different, and things that were the same..
Bought the EA game a 2nd time on my new PC through steam (was playing on stadia).
