is there or will there be any Evil races or class to choose from?
do any of you know if its possible to play as any evil characters or have an evil class like Necromancer or Dread knight or something in that area?

feel like I just suck at explaining it or you guys are missing my point.

I understand that say a Necromancer can be good and evil but in general terms it can be considered evil.

also my question was more outside the world of Dnd wich I can se now is something I should have said.

yes everything can be good and evil not my point.

Alignment is being phased out. Whether you're "evil" or not depends on your actions and your choices.

The Necromancy School specialization will eventually be added to Wizards (right now, you can only specialize in Abjuration and Evocation, but all eight schools will be added by release).

You can play Eldritch Knight right now. Paladins will come later.

lloth-worshipping drow, are usually concidered to be mean bunch. Of course, there are some... odd ones (like a certain famous ranger >;) ), but generally -- they are on "no good" side of lore.

I mean you can make anyone a mean bastard all you want, but if you need a race that is forcibly evil than the main one is going to be Lolth Drow. I don't really know of any other race outside of Underdark Dwarves that might fit that bill. Underdark Dwarves aren't an official race to pick from right now though, have to see if Larian gives them a special designation to choose like Lolth Drow and the surface Drow.

The two main "Evil" races in the game at the moment are Lolth-Sworn Drow and Githyanki.

Is Shar Evil, or simply Based? :caststrength:

Sometimes those things go hand in hand. People can't and don't want to understand the truth. The most Based of us cast out.

There are no "evil" classes in DnD. The only playable "Evil" race atm is Drow. I don't care what any snowflake tells me, Drow are inherently evil. The ones that have broken away from Llolths influence are their own sub-race, which is also playable.

Necromancy isn't evil. Any Wizard can use school of Necromancy spells. There used to be some classes restricted to evil like Assassin or Blackguard, but they probably got rid of that requirement in 5e, dunno. It's a snowflake edition.

ok for me personally and all otehr games and movies and what not Necromancy is generally considered an evil art.

so when I asked about evil classes Necromancer is one of them imo.

it might not be like that in dnd but I dont know fuilly the rules.

so if we take the dnd rules out of this what can be considered an evil class even thought it does not need to be evil per say

diablo 2, guild wars 2, dark age of Camelot are some bigger games that use necromancers as good guys or at least not evil characters. necromancy isn't evil by it self. it how you use it. but that could be said for any school of magic. most ppl view it as wrong, not evil (in game worlds like forgotten realm). it gets a stigma of being evil (in the real world). in dnd 1-2e and maybe 3e (not 3.5) necromancy use to also be healing magic, like cure wounds, resurrection or reincarnation. in 1-4e there was some spells that had "evil" in the descriptor that happened to be necromancy, but outside that, necromancy isn't evil. anyway to the point of this forum, i think 5e has done away with races and classes that you can play being 100% evil.

To start that with “for me a personally” kinda undermines your point for me. I think Necromancy inherently sets a character up for an evil path but it isn’t necessarily an evil “class”

I think datamining revealed Duergar as a possibility? They're lawful evil.
