Am I correct to say that with every new patch that comes out , my old BG3 saves becomes worthless and I have to replay the entire game from start ?

I recall reading that you can keep playing on the previous save.
It can happen but it is rare for it too happen that save's become incompattable.

if you apply a new patch, all saves will be incompatible. You can opt to stay on a previous patch, this way you can keep playing the game - but you won't benefit of all new features and changes due to the patch. Also, you don't have the entire game. Only Act 1 is available, so at best you can reply that act.

Saves become incompatible only with content updates, which happen every few months. We are currently on Content Update #8. So your saves will be incompatible when Content Update #9 comes out.

Hotfixes and minor updates are fully compatible though as these patches only fix bugs and optimize the game.

I have completed Act 1 when i bought it back then and I thought maybe after some years gone by ... though its still on Early Access .. maybe , just maybe there's an Act 2.

Lo and behold when I install BG3 and started it, my saves wouldn't work.

you would know ea is only act 1 if you had taken 10 seconds to read the store page

I love the "some years" part when it hasn't even reached 2 years of development yet.

Also what space said. You're not getting anymore acts until release.
