Can you opt out of the activity tracking by Larian?
Just curious. They've made mention quite a few times in community updates that they track what decisions people made etc.

Just wondering if you can opt out of that.

Tracking is good because they keep track of things like deaths, quests done and choices we make. If a quest is too hard or too easy or if no one is taking a quest because they can't find the NPC. Zones with crazy spikes of player deaths. Sometimes it's intended to be that dangerous, sometimes the devs have to look into it because something strange is going on.

Mostly useful for QoL changes in the future. The devs did a video talking about things they were able to improve in the past with the info.

You can turn it off, completely your choice, but I recommend leaving it on.

Aren't they also using it to shame people for playing certain types of characters?

While I get that these days it's really hard to tell the satire apart from earnest idiocy, lacking the sense of humour and getting offended because of it is the joke recepient's problem, rather than the teller's.

When people that are eager to cry "snowflakes" are just as petty and fragile as their supposed enemies, it really highlights how hopeless humanity is at this point.

They slammed on the player base for the most used character design being white male adventurers. Referring to the designs as "Default vault dweller" adding that they added horns, tails, demon eyes and its mostly unused.

No. They made a tongue and cheek joke about a generic character, in a world full of fantasy characters, that was no more than two sentences two years ago.

Games journalists made a big deal about that joke to attack gamers.

It only recently resurfaced out of nowhere. Larian has never attacked a single customer.

Wrong. Larian never mentioned gender or skin color. Game journalists did.

So true! Larian never shared a picture of what was a white male with brown short hair. Its all an illusion conjured by game journos.

They did a picture of the most picked character features, yes, and in two sentences mentioned a vault dweller. That was also two years ago.

That was it. Nothing more, nothing less.

They never said anything like it before or after either. They make jokes in every major patch. All it was was a joke that didn't land as well as their other jokes.

People are just being way too sensitive about it.

Why are you so defensive of them? You gaslight there's no reference to skin color or gender but there's both in plain sight via picture and pop culture reference and you dismiss it entirely or justify it.

It wasnt a joke either, no punchline only expression of sincere disappointment.

Also, no response here that could be described as sensitive or overreacting, people are pointing out the fact of the matter just like journos. And its fine its not like we dont know Larian is a little woke.

It was a joke- get over it. If you're this sensitive life will be hard.

Might want to get your sense of humor checked.
