Might not be working properly, though.
This discrepancy extends to the way they have implemented reactions as well and will also crop up again when Smite and Counterspell become options.
They need a proper reaction system, and Snek Attacs would fall under the same umbrella, since they basically work by you choosing to add that damage after the to-hit roll has been made.
In other words, it's going to require a pop-up system to implement properly. People have been clamoring for this since EA launch, so I hope they do it soon.
Basically boils down to sneak attack being it's own ability on your bar for both ranged and melee, and the throw ability being it's own separate thing, so there is no way to combine the two.
Not that it matters anyway, since a thrown dagger is going to use your strength score for the to-hit even if your DEX is higher, although the damage will use DEX if it's higher.
It's a nice feature, for sure, but also has more than a few kinks to iron out of it. E.G. a thrown axe probably shouldn't do falling damage to targets if you throw it from high enough up. You can literally miss, and it still does a small AoE of damage and does knockdown, which is silly.
Yeah, if you throw something from high enough up it basically becomes a very small AoE grenade which is...not how that should work to say the least lol. Amusing, yes, but also doing crazy high damage for an attack that really shouldn't do that much damage.
..I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who wants the Light cantrip to have color options like described in pen and paper. I learned you can cast light on your armor if you drop it - It's a real glow-up
