Introducing more points of failure into that is probably not a great idea at this juncture, but you do you.
Or almost as if modding a game to support an amount of players more than what is intended by the developer will be a sketchy hack.
Make the case for six players that can't also be made for 8, for example.
There is a request for it, and I'd be curious to hear how stable the game is with five players. Just getting it to work is one thing, getting it not to crash every other conversation is another.
Good luck either way, you'd be a hero to people want more players even if I don't envy you the headache of trying to support it.

So yeah multiplayer is still limited to 4 players but the party limit is now 8.
