Is Gale 'really' infected with a parasite?

I can't tell for sure if he is or not from the dialog I've seen with him.

The thought has crossed my mind that maybe he's lying to us and intends to betray us in order to siphon our magical power at some point.
He's just a sponge for magical things as it is.

Just speculation on my part.

The fact is, we mind merge with the other companions (and infected NPCs) when we first meet them and 'not' with Gale. We're told the merging is due to the tadpoles in our heads. So, if there is no merging of our mind with Gale's mind, it stands to reason that he has no tadpole in his head to merge with.

Simple logic.

Here's an even simpler logic: Gale cannot have an Illithid power without a parasite in his head. Gale can get an Illithid power unlocked. Therefore, Gale has an Illithid parasite.

I already explained this to you, and also showed you video evidence of Gale using an Illithid power. Why do you continue to ignore this?

Yeah. I actually like him too. I find his camp scenes pretty intriguing. He just doesn't stir my gravy enough for me to be nice to him.
