please DO NOT partner with Tencent Gaming
I don't want to see any influence on the game from the giant Tencent Gaming which is good at nothing but copying and sucking money from users buy selling skins and summons

Did I miss something where they were considering it? Because sure, I agree, but this kinda seems out of nowhere.

Edit: Retracted, see below.

A winnie the pooh publisher? Asking because if they are a publisher then I can be safely assured that Larian won't since they are still an indie company.

I mean, there are plenty that do. Like Grinding Gear Games.

Tencent now owns 30% of Larian Studios (as it has own significant chunk of Epic, Riot, SuperCell ), I don't want to see any Tencent's influence on Baldur's gate 3's game design/development decisions

Well you are correct. I hope they ignore any influence from them.

Well, that's disappointing.

Yep, no matter how good a dev's games are that doesn't make them good people and like 90% of them will throw their fans and game quality in the trash for some quick money from big companies despite already having amazing sales. Sad to see that this is starting to happen to Larian studios as well but I guess it was inevitable.

I can only hope that Tencent will have 0 influence on baldurs gate and their future games but who knows at this point.

Ah the Tencent hate train, what amazes me is not a single valid accusation against Tencent has ever stood up to even the most summary examination.

Hey guys look, a chinese bot. =)

https://crappygames.miraheze.org/wiki/Tencent

You just need to google for 5 min to get a picture about Tencent. But in general they seem to try to milk dumb people with addicting games like mobas, battle royal riddled with microtransactions and remove competition by taking them over or flood them with law suits.

In short if players would be wise and avoid these crappy games companies like Tencent would just vanish or need to produce quality. They are just in a lucky spot.

What amazes me is how ignorant people like you are.

Let me guess you have literally 0 clue about what Tencent actually is and you just decided to leave a dumb comment just to be contrarian for no reason.

Unless they start selling company stock, they are likely safe from Tencent control, but this doesnt feel like a company Tencent would want anyways.
dulany67 9 DIC 2021 a las 4:04 a. m.
Note that simplified chinese is one of the supported languages for BG3. No matter how you feel about the CCP, china is a huge market. That is a business reality. It's also a business reality that a company the size of Larian needs capital to grow. Tencent also owns WeGame, basically the steam of china.

It makes sense for Larian to accept investment from tencent.
whoami 9 DIC 2021 a las 4:15 a. m.
Larian has experience with crowdfunding to remain independent. If they ever go bioware, bethesda - style. Gbye for me.
Rather black isle nosedive instead of obsidian shackles.
