Barbarian
Great to see another class in the game even though I'm not a fan of the martial classes. So, the damage inflicted by a barbarian can be crazy high but it can't be all a one-way street in favour of the player - what are barbarians particularly vulnerable to? Magic? Mind control? Other? Have folks playing a barbarian noticed any weaknesses in particular encounters?

Traditionally, 'Barians have been vulnerable to magic, particularly Enchantment and Illusion, and psychic attacks, since they probably have lower Int and Wis.

Barbarians tend to put so many points in Strength, Constitution and Dexterity (unarmored defense) that they tend to have low intelligence, wisdom or charisma saving throws.

They are incredibly vulnerable to being charmed and other magical attacks that require a saving throw.

The classic D&D barb did not have high armor nor the dex to exploit the armors he could use. Rage counters some magic, but not damage.
I dunno what is going on in this version though.

Speaking from DnD 5e (I haven't played BG3 Barb yet, waiting on Mac update):

Barbarian are built to essentially have a LOT of HP, and get resistance to damage so they can soak a lot of Damage while they smash things with Rage, Strength, and GWM.

Their weaknesses are typically magic damage - because their resistances are typically to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing - so they just have to eat regular magic damage.

Additionally, Barbarians are notoriously easy to Charm/Mind Control/etc. They almost never have Wisdom or Charisma, and they don't get prof in any kind of saving throws for any of these CCs.

Finally, Barbarians don't have a good answer for range, especially a flying enemy. Certain specs get a jump/fly kind of move later on, but typically barbarians find themselves helpless when fighting a dragon flying around launching fireballs at them.

Nah those weakness are only on paper in video games that doen't matter much.

Cos spell casters are rare anyway and you can adapt on the fly cos you have a full party and all the info you need at your fingertips...

You gonna use your Good saves and your Danger Sense more than any caster would use his saves... Just one more thread where people are telling table top things that have little income with Video games..

For one thing, if you're using your attacks everything gets advantage to hit you even if it does less damage.

For another thing, as others pointed out, any WIS/INT/CHA saves are going to screw you over hard. Hold person, for example, will probably mean you die. At the very least, you probably just lost rage.

And lastly, rage recharges on long rests so it's a more finite resource than many of the fighters abilities. Sure, you can long rest spam like a Wizard or Cleric but that's really your business.
