Proper way to extract Baelen?

I tried doing the remote hands spell/skill that Lae'zel has and was able to
Get his bag to him. He thanked me but then did nothing with it, he just stayed there.
Is that a bug or did I do something wrong?
Is there a better way to do this?

Sound like a bug... I misty stepped to him, throw the bag to him, he picked it up and teleported his butt away. Then I ported my butt away.

Then I took the Bidlibubbles out with the bow from a distance, one by one, waited 30 rounds for the poison to disappear and took the Precious mushroom.

Fetch the torch first and throw a poison resistance at him eheheh that way no explosion dmg :D can probably use a water carafe to take it out from a distance too! Throw op

There's a ledge on the side, you can jump to it & throw his bag at him, or loot it but leave 1 scroll of misty step. Alternatively you can throw a scroll if you already have one, but be careful because sometimes the scroll will get stuck on top of the mushroom, so make sure you have a clear sight of throwing.

Don't forget to collect the Noblestalk, it can cure his condition.

If you walk along the ledge to the left you can get down to his backpack pretty easily. Then, loot the bag, but leave a single Misty Step scroll in it, or just throw one over to him.

He'll teleport away and then give you a scroll of Invsibility for your help. After that, you can clear the bibberbangs by setting them off then clearing the gas with fire (stand back). I think there's some gems in the corner.

Definitely don't cure him, apparently he used to be a wife beater before he was addled.

When I properly try to extract Bealen, he teleports to safety and then decides to run back into the field of poison mushrooms... I think it is bugged for me...
