Where is Wyll (patch 6)
I started new game to try Sorcerer calss and I can't find Wyll.
He used to be in Druid's Grove but he's not there anymore.
Is it possible that he died at the gate encounter?

If him dying at the gate is possible then what's the point of adding a companion character that we may never even see?

It is possible he died in the Grove fight. If he's dead, than I'm pretty sure you could just revive him.

As for what the point of adding a companion you may never see is, that line of reasoning is applicable to every companion in the game. You don't have to recruit any companion, so using your logic the existence of every companion in EA is pointless. It's just one outcome of many for Wyll as a character, the same as if you help the Tieflings kill Lae'zel, or ignore Shadowheart and then kill her at your camp.

Since patch 5, we are now able to revive companions if they die before recruiting. Try using a resurrection scroll on him. He may be outside the Grove gate if he fell during the battle.

I think the possibility of never encountering a companion is a possibility - although I think once the game is fully out, there will be multiple instances to recruit them within Act 1.

I feel bad for Wyll though because I feel like people end up not even recognizing that he's recruitable. He might need a mini-cutscene when he joins the fight so people are like "oh wow, he's one of the guys from the promotional art! I can probably recruit him."

@Alex - Not adding a companion or choosing to ignore one is way different to not even knowing that there is a companion to have because said companion dies before we even realise that there is one.

@Her Royal Shortness - I didn't know you can resurrect companions that have not been added to the "herd". ;)
And yes, I fully agree. The only way I recruted him on my first playthrough, a year ago was because I went actively looking for him. And I totally (same as with patch 6) missed the whole "joining the battle" thing with him. I always thought he just sits in the camp and plays with chindren. :D

If he didn't die than he should still be in the same spot. How the hell did he die in that battle? He comes in late and most of them are killed unless you slacked big time on your part? As for companions getting killed, well in some games if you don't do things in a certain order than yes you are expected to miss them or have them killed. WOTR is a prime example of it if you don't go recruit Ember straight off the Knights kill her. If you don't rescue Regil and just ignore that part you never get to recruit him. Your actions or lack of them should have results in a story, same her with BG. My current play I straight out killed a certain Gith (the amror looks bettter on Shadowheart any way). Cause I have no plans to use her in this play. I could of just ignored her location but I didn't. I didn't want to run into the chance of running into her and her being on the other side later (more wouldbe something to happen in release),.

OK, I've found him. He is standing not too far away from the main gate.
He won't join me though. He just reply with a one liner and that's it.
Probably because I already finished the quests for druids and "sorted out" the Gobln leaders.
