Can't complete the Finish the Masterwork Weapon Quest.
Has this quest been disabled because I can not complete it for the life of me. I have the Sussur bark from the Underdark, I have the blueprints that gave the quest in the first place. I have a normal Greatsword, and a normal dagger. I'm in the blacksmith forge in the Blighted Village. I am at the actual forge; I use the bellows to make the coals hot and then Use the forge. I get a box with a big question mark on the left side and a blank box on the right side and they arrow down to an empty box at the bottom of that window. I first try putting the sussur bark in the open right box and click combine: Nothing. I then try putting the greatsword in the open right box and click combine: Nothing. I then try the dagger. Then the bark again and the dagger. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. And I cannot place any objects in the bottom box nor can I overlay anything onto the big question mark. I am at a loss.
Wtf?

The petal just sits on top of the very red fire. And why does the petal now say withered sussur petal? If there is a time limit I swear I will walk away from this patch and maybe the game.... How else are you supposed to get back to the forge without coming to the "surface air"....space suit?!

Petal and bark are not the same thing. Petal withers immediately when on the surface as stated in-game; it's not based on a time limit and is not relevant to the forge anyway.

You need to use the Sussur bark to make the fire blue. I'm. I'm not sure what does this, but it is a necessary step. Figure this out 1st

You have to actually put the Sussur Bark into the forge. Like take it out of your inventory and place it in there.

you need to light the fire, pump the bellows, add bark, pump bellows, add item.
Ottiz Oct 21, 2021 @ 11:50am
do this with the combine option, combine bark alone, then combine item alone
SnarkOne Oct 21, 2021 @ 12:13pm
1. Put the sussar bark in forge combination box
2. Put the greatsword/sickle/dagger in the forge combination box
3. Profit

You might need to use the pump once you put the sussar bark. It's been a while since I've done this.

Littlebunny seems to have been right. I reloaded a save from when I just entered the Underdark and did everything all over again and taking the BARK *which was a nightmare to find again* directly to the blacksmith forge did work. You have to light the fire to get it orange, use the bellows to make it flare, combine the BARK with the now orange forge fire and that makes the coals turn BLUE. Then you combine the weapon you choose with the now BLUE coal forge and you will get the Sussur Weapon. HOWEVER: Two important discoveries...
ONE: The Sussur bark CAN BE DAMAGED. It has only 10 hit points so I think the bark that I had on my previous attempts became damaged and thus unusable. Mostly from throwing it at the forge and possibly laying in on the orange coals in previous attempts. So do not throw or damage the bark it may ruin the quest.
TWO: It is possible to bring Sussur Blooms to the surface still intact! Yes, you put them in an empty pouch. Then put the pouch containing the bloom into an empty backpack and as long as you don't remove the pouch from the backpack the Blooming Flower will still protect you from magic. I stood in the Blacksmiths forge with the bloom in pouch/backpack and was still glowing blue with the Antimagic effect running after Quick traveling to the Blighted Village. So I most definitely was exposed to both air and sunlight running into the forge from the portal stone! Can you fight and play the rest of the game that way? Hmm...

Ooh, that's very interesting! Curious whether that's a glitch or intentional (like maybe having enough layers shielding it from the surface is supposed to preserve it). Glad you got the masterwork weapons quest done!

I just did this two days ago, I used the pump and than did the steps as you said and made a +1 Dagger. I think it's suppose to have other abilities that aren't in game yet, but hay it's a free dagger to sale. My only issue is right now it's kinda seems like a late chapter thing to come back to as you all ready should have better weapons in your inventor or at least equal weapons so I'm hopeing that it's just missing stuff for now.

so the box has 2 slot but i can put in only 1 slot. if i put the bark in then i can't put other item in other slot. if i click on combine then the bark is still there and still i can't put anything in the other slot

you need to activate the forge first.

The forge needs to be glowing ORANGE. Then when you put the bark in one side and hit Combine, it burns the bark.

It's not clear, but the second box is the forge itself. So it's:
1. Forge on
2. Bark + forge, Combine
3. Item + blue forge, Combine

This is was about a bug surrounding the sussur bark o: not the grymforge! This is necromancy xD
