Dwarf limited to 15 str ?!?!

Since when was limiting a Dwarf to such a low strength any kind of idea ??? Known for swinging hammers at forges all day, sound familiar ? This is assinine. In no version of the RPG is dwarf strength limited so low! Nor should it be here. Stats overall seem to need a HUGE revision. ALL stats seem to be quite low. I have yet to be able to generate a character I'd be at all interested in playing the game with. Seriously ... Let's play a d&d game where every character has NO decent CLASS stats. Thanks, but nope.

Only one subrace of dwarf is limited to 15. The other one can get 17 str.

You should really try reading the rules of 5E DnD before complaining. The only way to get higher than a 17 at level 1 in any stat is to roll for stats. As BG3 uses point-buy, 17 is a hard limit for character creation. 5E is all about exorcizing the bloat from DnD, and that includes stat bloat.

That it doesn't go higher than 15 is standard, except that Volk has bonus.


All dwarfs:
Get Constitution +2.

Hill dwarfs:
Willpower +1.

Mountain dwarfs:
Strength +2.

Duergar:
Strength +1.

Strangely enough, we have Shield Dwarves here.

Shield dwarves are a type of mountain dwarf. The 5e phb mentions this when talking about the different types of dwarves.
