For the most part the PAK files are read and loaded into tables during game start. I could see those tables being accessible during play if someone was willing to spend the time sorting debugging the core to access and change those variables and scripts.
Personally i hate all the mod solutions out there currently. They all just dance around the file over-ride method built into the game. Folders and files under the Baldurs Gate 3\Data folder in the correct places override their like files contained in the PAK files in the same data folder. The Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods folder is supposed to do the same thing but in an amendment fashion but it does not work for Steam, yet.
Extracting PAK files and placing the correct file in the correct folder location then editing them is far easier to work with. You can edit things on the fly and delete them and the change is gone. Plus you can extract other peoples mods, see what they did, and make those changes to your files as needed.
Yes. I have a large list of saves, and I want to clear it out. I create new characters to test the builds, and play through, but they are building up, and I don't see an option to delete the characters.
I found the answer posted on the Larian Studios forum. Answer was provided by tourmaline.
