Rain Dancer
I played BG 1 and 2 and now some of 3. I bought my computer because of this game. I LOVE ur game, so far. I also liked the book about giant space hamsters. More of those references wood b awesome. I do want 2 mention a little beef. Haven't played AD&D n 4 ever. When I did, magic items usually had charges (plural). Rain Dancer, don't. N fact, Rain Dancer don't even----> WORK!! <-----, if u don't have the spell *Create Water* memorized... N which case, I don't need the durn staff. AND.... *Create Water* is absolutely UNABLE to even put out a SIMPLE house fire. WTFudge, man. I no, that sounds like a big beef. but that is because of my passion 4 ur game. N the scope of ur work, thus far, its just a drop a water.

AD&D is 3 editions in the past.

Items DO have charges sometimes, and if you use up ALL the charges you risk breaking the item permanently.

However, Items also have "Once Per Day/Rest" uses now. And the Rain dancer is one of those items. You don't need to know the spell, or even have the ability to cast spells, to use spells that are built into items.

So... yeah, welcome to 5th edition

Create water does not create a rain storm. It creates a certain amount of water that would not put out an entire house on fire. It can probably put out a medium sized bonfire but not a house.

You're thinking of scrolls not items.

When you hover their post there's a little arrow that lets you quote them.

Items in 5e can have requirements to be used (they can also have no requirements). You may need to be attuned or need to be a certain class or something to use it. The link below has all the rules and such to do with magic items in 5e.

Examine the item and see if you need to be a certain class or something. I can't find a decent description of the item online so I can't really help much.

Also, there is a bug currently with the staff, and the druid at least, if you have the staff equipted, unprepair a spell, the staff will count as 2 prepaired spells, so you will be at 2/5 spells available at level 3, with NO spells readied, you can unequipt said staff to set your spells back to 0/5, but still, it can be jaring to suddenly be at 7/5 spells
i di not notice that. i of course am playing the driud. so i will look next i play
