Part of D&D is the existence of other planes of existence. Devils come from the 9-hells. Demons come from the abyss.
You know, I actually thought about that! But figured it would make sense. I didn't want to use the abbreviation again because I had just used it in the title, and the "Original Sin" subtitle is a little cringeworthy. But for the sake of making sense, I suppose I should do it...
There are other worlds as well like Krynn & Eborron.
I think most of this is sarcasm? I dunno. I mean, you're right, cameos aren't exactly new, I was just surprised that the end of DOSII heavily implied he was coming here. Which makes me wonder how long Larian knew about this project.
Alternatively it could have just been Larian dropping hints in DOS:2 that they had the licence and were going to be working on a BG3, if this is the case nothing more may come of it.
