Just updated Minthara to match Patch 6. So, Part 1 has her new description when she smiles at Ragzlin as the nautiloid arrives. Also replaced her image with new Patch 6 one.

This one contains the Hag fight and the Spider Matriarch fight. Brutal, but they were totally awesome to play out via Tabletop. I was on edge as I thought I was going to wind up killing all of the player characters and the game would be over.
The Narrative version is a bit different from the Tabletop playthrough. It is mostly the same, but I decided to do a few tweaks because I thought it fit a bit better story-wise.
One of my favorite sections in this part is when Wynari lays into Mayrina. Ah! It is like everything I wanted to say to her as well when I first played through this part of the video game.
And the winner of the Worst-Mother-Award goes to?...
Mayrina!!!
So, unfortunately, Lae'zel's roll was bad, and Ethel's was good. Therefore, Lae'zel got what the dice roll called for.
As for the tweaks, most of them refer to small changes in battle sequences and/or changes because of the patch. For example, Minthara is now described as having long hair pinned up behind her head as opposed to the short hair of patch 5. As for battle sequences, I had to tweak the order that things happened in for narrative purposes so that it flowed better, and I added more descriptions as opposed to "Kaedyn hit and did 8 damage." Now it reads, "Kaedyn swung his mace and clipped the goblin in the shoulder."
The reason I wrote that note, though, was there were more significant changes in this section. So, it is more perfect timing for you if that is where you left off. You didn't miss much.
Oh! Wait! There was a scene that I changed up a bit in the secret tunnels. I tweaked it because I didn't like how it played out as I was rereading it. Now it includes Astarion spider climbing and sneaking around and spying on the other party.
Oh! Crap! And there's the Astarion back tattoos scene with Vexir.
OK. I'll tell you what. I'll skim back through the previous parts and pull out the stuff that's been changed that is really important. I forgot, there were some changes because of changes to the game or because I discovered new stuff. So, I'll let you know. Like you said, it'll be kind of a Change Log.

You do realize I was doing this alongside the 'actual' game, not a 'fan service' BG3 thing?
Regardless, I do not berate you for doing this, I commend you for your want to entertain people. I too want to make people happy, we just have different ways of going about it.
Now, we just need that armor to match stat-wise with the look. They gave her LEATHER + 1!!! LEATHER!!!!
Her AC is 15 WITH SHIELD. Ugh! No! No! No!
I am fighting now for her to have Half Plate + 1 at least and call it Drow Half Plate armor. Then, she will be perfect with 16 + 1 (Dex) = 17 + Shield + 1 = 20 AC. Ah! Now that's a Minthara worth fighting and killing and one to have on our team if we take the evil path.
I created an Evil Drow Sorcerer and would REALLY love to have her on his team. I don't normally like evil paths, but I must say they've done a good job at adding more story content if you go evil. You learn more things.
Anyway, glad you like the change log. Hope you enjoy the various new scenes. I must say, one of my favorites is the Astarion scene with the Poem on his back. I took inspiration from someone on reddit. He actually translated the tattoos. Said was very similar to latin, so the translation in the scene is based on that person's interpretation.
Either way, a lot of the dialogue is from the game, of course, but it was very interesting.
There will be more changes in future rewrites simply because the more I thought about what happened in the Tabletop, the more certain things bugged me. Vengeance and Servitude were two such things already included in the rewrites. It just didn't sit well with me. I might want to have more about them in the future if I continue writing it.
I also didn't like a certain scene already in the change log where Wynari throws herself into Wyll's arms. Yeah. You might like it, but it just didn't fit well with her awkward, shy character. She wouldn't just throw herself into anyone's arms.
Anyway, I did not take my inspiration to write all this from anyone or anywhere other than the game itself. I created my characters via Tabletop, and then I created the Origin characters via Tabletop as well to test out various BG3 video game encounters with actual Tabletop rules. As I did, I recorded the gameplay and it turned into the Afflicted story. It was vastly enjoyable to play and write, and it is even more fun to edit and tweak. I feel it's just getting better and better.
And now they've given me more content with Grymforge. I might have to start The Afflicted Book 2 which begins with journeying into the Underdark. :)
I'm on the same boat ⛵, because she didn't feel "Drow enough" for me in regards to the lore.
If the lore said that Lolth Drow were always nude & hideous with four eyes with 2 mouths, then that's what I want to see! Do you get what I mean, since I'm sure the forum thought I was yet another guy wanting to see feminine ladies. 🙄🤤
I'm not exactly a big fan of Drow, I don't know what you see in them brokoreus? I know you have a thing for them, it's pretty obvious so don't try to deny it lol. I'd love if you can be truly honest, & explain your favoritism or infatuation.
I'm more into races that look similar to the Thundercats, or a race that reminds me of Angelmon from Digimon. 😇 Basically aasimar & half-tabaxi...yet do have lesser favorites if they aren't added to BG3. https://youtu.be/UHxtOkrTZKQ?t=5
https://youtu.be/WH8A31-vdgU
Putting myself in Astarion's shoes, I would've fired or I guess in this case kill the tattoo artist! 😂 It looks ridiculously bad, where at least if it looked good I'd spare the person & compliment their skill.
I'd force them to turn over a new leaf lol, because we can't just kill every quality artist! It would be such a "sin" & waste to remove the masters of drawing, painting, tattooing, etc. I'd shed a tear if one had to die, especially those who make beautiful architecture designs. 😢
Just so you know, "Vengeance" was the companion I was talking about when I said about Wyll not saving her & Laezel. 😞 I remember you writing about him being angered from her death, & then focusing on a certain "damsel" from not dying either. Yet you didn't write those kind of feelings for anyone else I think?
Also that whole battle was so intense, & is when Wynari became without a doubt my #1 favorite after everything! Yup she's even higher than Wyll lol, but it's mostly because her interesting backstory.
I love how she can be so sweet, except when it's time to get work done she's an absolute savage! The scene where Wynari talks to your "winner of the worst mother award" is when I knew she was my #1. 😎👍
^ Video below is how I imagined the hug between Wynari & Wyll except the setting fits your story of course lol. https://youtu.be/8RDueVUvsLY
Okay I'm trying to be funny & will return back to serious mode, sorry.
I think you might have gave me a spoiler? 😨 Part of me does remember Wyll hugging her, yet I think I got him confused with Kaedyn? I know I commented to you about him, since I said to you how he's getting all the ladies.
Of course I'm kidding that all the girls want him lol, unless you're going to make some sort of harem-ending with Kaedyn? 😉 Now I do think Wyll got hugged as well, except I can't recall my response?! Maybe making jokes like how Laezel would get jealous or something? 🥰 Yeah I know she won't lol, but like I said I'd be joking..
This is all seriously bugging me now, I thought I remembered all the Wyll stuff that has happened so far? Did this happen during the tabletop version, which is the one I read & stopped after Laezel's tragic & happy finale.
I do remember when Wynari was scared of Wyll, but you're right somewhere later I think she did hug him & just can't for the life of me remember when or what I thought? I don't even know if this was during camp or in another location, I'm going to make a spoilery guess below.
Did the hug happen after Wyll escaped the Dragon & later being in camp? If not then how about we play a game, where you give me hints till my brain gets that happy lightbulb moment lol. OR you could spoil it all completely & just say it. ^_^
Edit : Made lots of typos, so my bad for any confusion brokoreus.
And the irony is, I absolutely detest their culture. It's terrible. I just like the look of drow and how tough they are and so forth. I like good drow. I don't like the overall drow culture.
Anyway, Wynari hugged Kaedyn, and the hugging scene with Wyll was the scene in the Hag's lair. Kaedyn's hug I left in because it was more of a "Thank you and please take care because I think you're one of the only people in the group that's nice" type of hugs. The hug with Wyll seemed too off character because she is a druid who fought against undead vampires and their minions in the wilds of Icewind Dale. Yes, she'd be freaked out a bit from the undead grabbing her, but she threw herself into Wyll's arms as if she was some teenage girl in a slasher flick needing some guy to console her. As you said, she's sweet and a bit awkward, but she can be quite savage when she needs to be. Whether she is attracted to Wyll or not, she wouldn't be throwing herself into his arms like that.
Anyway, I did do a search for "hug" and "embrace" and found nothing in regards to Wynari hugging Wyll other than that scene that I removed. So, unless you're thinking of the Kaedyn hug, I don't know what other hug there might have been.
I'm playing Grymforge right now, and I must say, it's starting to get my creative juices flowing to start working on The Afflicted Book 2. I left off before the Underdark because there just wasn't enough content to start doing a book 2, and it was weird to continue book 1 by going into the Underdark. It seemed like a good break to conclude Book 1.
But now, with Grymforge, I might at least have a decent amount to work with at least to create some of it. I don't know. We'll see. I gotta finish the first one in Narrative form first. :)
Hope you're still enjoying. Chat with you later.

This has got to be one of my all-time favorite parts of the story. Entering the goblin camp, meeting Gut, Ragzlin and Minthara - as well as Spike, Abdirak, Gribbo - the whole part just makes me want to play the game again and again. It's so priceless - especially Minthara.
Man! I wish it was just like this in the game.
