Sound Issues
So scratching my head over this one, basically using the Razer Kraken headphones and it seems to be only BG3 that does this but the sound keeps cutting out, with a popping sound, effecting the sound and discord where the headset keeps vanishing and reappearing, from the list of devices on discord.

Anyone else have this issue?

lierally been having this issue all night (while playing something while BG3 downloads) Could it be something to do with the latest nvidia drivers? I was just putting it down to fifa23 being ♥♥♥♥. Was trying tio pay fifa on one monitor and have yotube on the other, youtube would cutout and go silent when i was plying fifa, perfectly fine when out of game.

I have had this issue for a loooong time even with my replacement headset (Razer Kraken Kitty Edition) the closest 'fix' I have is using voicemeeter, when the pop and disconnect happens I can click on voicemeeter and reset it with 1 click instead of unplugging/replugging headset. When I did get the replacement headset it stopped happening for a while but with the BG3 full release it came back with a vengeance; happening every 3 seconds and I just had to switch to my sennheiser headset. TLDR; dont buy a razer headset.

My sound ain't as bad as you describe it, but it feels off none the less. Volume levels are all over the place at it doesn't sound good at all.

Same issue almost, a popping sound, audio cutting in and out but ONLY while in a discord call, in most cases my audio comes through my sound bar and subwoofer, and the discord call through my headset (LG KDA headset) but mine also does this horrid white noise thing as well when someone is talking and it glitches/lags and it’s just awful. I cannot recreate it on any other game so I’m glad to see I’m not alone in having issues with discord and the game, if I’m NOT in a discord call and have the audio come through my headset(or not) it does NOT do it, so to me the issue has to be between the two applications, even troubleshooting using browser discord made no difference. If anyone finds a possible fix to this, or if we just simply have to wait, let me know!

What’s most odd is out if my gaming group of 3 people I’m the only one seeming to have the issue.

For me- I found out the issue was because my headset has RGB lights and, only being plugged in directly to the PC via USB, there wasn't enough power going in to power both the lights and the sounds, so the sound kept cutting out. To counter this, I just turned the RGB off on my headset while I play and it works fine. Hope that at least helps someone. For clarification, my headset is the Razer Kraken. I think I'm meant to get a USB hub that plugs into the wall as well as the computer to have enough power to power both lights and sounds in the future.

I find that the audio can play normally if it's directly plugged in to my PC.

updating my audio driver fixed poping sounds etc for me only that this games audio is still weird with low sounds from people

Latest hotfix did something for me, sound on my end is really good now. Guess something was off in the game files either way.

I have exactly the same problem as the thread creator mentioned.
Because I thought that this might be a Windows 11 problem (I just switched over a week ago and until then have not played anything with my headphones under Win 11), I have reverted to Win 10 and tried one more time.

But it is exactly the same problem, my headphone (Razer Nari Ultimate) works perfectly well with any game or video - until I start Baldur's Gate 3. During the opening sequence with the giant squid, the headset suddenly disconnects and starts to reconnect nonstop, resulting in an extreme lag. After ending BG3, the same happens with every other game and video I tried after a maximum of 5 minutes ingame (or during video files, even with youtube), regardless what it is.

I had exactly the same symptoms in Win 11 and reverting to 10 somehow fixed that problem, however now nothing seems to help, so I will reinstall Windows 10 from scratch.

However this game is dead to me now, such things may happen during Early Access but definitely not after a full release. I am not the only one who is using Razer products after all, so that should have been tested way more thoroughly before the final release.

I have been having this issue with my Razer Kraken since day 1. I finally found a solution yesterday and not had the problem again thus far.
I went to the razer synapse settings for my headset, and deactivated the option to let BG3 control the RGB Lighting. No issue since I did that. I still have my usual lighting too, just not game-controlled.

Hopefully that helps others!

TL;DR: try deactivating the game controlling your RGB lighting.
