What’s most odd is out if my gaming group of 3 people I’m the only one seeming to have the issue.
Because I thought that this might be a Windows 11 problem (I just switched over a week ago and until then have not played anything with my headphones under Win 11), I have reverted to Win 10 and tried one more time.
But it is exactly the same problem, my headphone (Razer Nari Ultimate) works perfectly well with any game or video - until I start Baldur's Gate 3. During the opening sequence with the giant squid, the headset suddenly disconnects and starts to reconnect nonstop, resulting in an extreme lag. After ending BG3, the same happens with every other game and video I tried after a maximum of 5 minutes ingame (or during video files, even with youtube), regardless what it is.
I had exactly the same symptoms in Win 11 and reverting to 10 somehow fixed that problem, however now nothing seems to help, so I will reinstall Windows 10 from scratch.
However this game is dead to me now, such things may happen during Early Access but definitely not after a full release. I am not the only one who is using Razer products after all, so that should have been tested way more thoroughly before the final release.
I went to the razer synapse settings for my headset, and deactivated the option to let BG3 control the RGB Lighting. No issue since I did that. I still have my usual lighting too, just not game-controlled.
Hopefully that helps others!
TL;DR: try deactivating the game controlling your RGB lighting.
