Lolthian Drow females are not intending to disrespect them, Sew, because there is no respect to be had in the first place. One cannot disrespect something that never had it to begin with. Lolthian Drow males are beneath them, that should be plain by now. Houses have rank and their denizens, station, and all within are competing for Lolth's favor.
You seem to misunderstand the term 'Matriarchal Society'. Generally, the males do not attempt rebellion, because this is Lolth's society and she gives her Priestess's and Handmaidens power through favor. Males whom attempt to kill a female are typically sanctioned to do so by another female whom uses that male or males as assassins. This is fully sanctioned by Lolth according to the games of intrigue played out by the Houses.
Additionally, even male Grand Mages of the Sorcere know their place in Lolth's society and that they are just tools for furthering Her will.
The sad truth is you probably would not die very quickly, your pain and torture would most probably be set as an example to other males whom decided to try such a path. Whether killing you outright or not would also depend on if you were a male of a ranked favored House or just one of the common Lolthian Drow of a lower House.
As for the OP, I think I kinda gave a bit of an answer in my reply to Sew.
If not, I can come up with something else.
hah, you would be surprised...
Oh? Did you? Well, Salvatore and the others whom aided them into crafting the Drow, had their own fetishes in mind when they crafted the 'Llothian Drow?' I'm not sure why Larian changed 'Lloth' to 'Lolth' but I am willing to adapt. Anyway, from my readings and research, most Llothian Drow, will never 'love' a male, as it gives the potential to be swayed by them. They will be more inclined to love another female, for it is a safer venue to travel both in heart and in favor.
but pretty much using all who are not drow to their advantage, kill and torture for fun, spread general chaos to their goddess, the demon lord Lolth
btw only 2000 drows escaped the surface slaughter 10 000 years ago according to last book i read, they must sacrifice a lot of babes to lolth considering Menzoberranzan was only 20 000 drow "strong"
Sure there were other cities, but there should be at least two to twenty million drows around if we follow our own human increase in same amount of years :o
I don't know. I would not put it past Larian to do something that could possibly come close. Perhaps a cut scene involving another Priestess of the Absolute and a multitude of male Drow whom serve her doing raids in towns for loot and the like. Paralyzing poison darts are not uncommon to be used by Lolthian Drow on their targets, after all.
Additionally, I do not know if you have seen the new cut scene that if you do something to attack the Druids, their idol, or murder someone in plain sight *cough* Volo *cough*, that they put in a new scene where it's a one-on-one with a bo/staff wielding Druid and a dagger wielding Tiefling... the end of the fight is a lot more chaotically brutal and bloody than I thought I would see, which leads me to think there will be more of the same down the line and that they aren't afraid to make it messy.
Whenever I play drow, I just want to make Astarion say please at the party, and depending on how I'm feeling - still leave him by himself for the evening.
you have my respect for that o/
Yes, drow lore is dark and full of terrors...
will see, but doubt they will go as dark as mentioned :P will try game again when full release, but for now I just got: Starlight Enclave (The Legend of Drizzt #37) - R. A. Salvatore......audiobook....cant wait to "read" more about jarlaxle :o
Seldarine Drow are already non Evil and worship Eilistraee, whom is Good aligned.
Vhaeraun, whom apparently is Evil, but I am unsure if he serves Lolth or not. This site says he does but I am unsure of the lore. Plus I heard Salvatore is updating Drow Lore or completely changing it in some cases, so we will have to see what comes of that...
However, I completely expect, and i'm sure Her Royal Shortness will agree, it will still be pervy, not that it's a bad thing.
