Had something odd happen after the crash in patch 5...

So I got Shadowheart out of her prison and we all got out as before. The first time I did this Lae Zel was in the cage like she usually is, but this new run I'm doing I found Shadowheart, then a short distance from her Lae zel was dead on the beach as if she slammed into the ground like we all should have.
Anyone else have this happen? First time I've seen this and I'm just curious if it's a bug or if this is actually a possibility.

Interesting. I had almost the same happen.. It was Shadow heart who was dead on the beach for me

If Lae'zel dies on the ship, she is dead on the beach. If Shadowheart dies on the beach, she is dead on the beach. You can resurrect them & recruit them right there. Currently the scene with Shadowheart is bugged, if you rez her and talk to her, it goes to the cutscene from her knocking on the door and she says that you haven't rescued her on the ship, even though you might have...

Yeah I thought of this after I remembered she died last second on the ship before one of my characters managed to get to the point. Forgot that happened before I tried to reload a previous save. It was the first time I saw the reviving her on the beach scene since I usually just go straight to the end of the ship rather than fight before patch 5.

The thieflings that originally captured Lae'zel are not near the cage or in the Druid Grove, basically, you can't ind them anywhere. The benefit is if you revive Lae'zel first, and then wake up Shadowheart, you don't get disapproval from Lae'zel for recruiting Shadowheart. Also, obviously you start as a 3 man party on the beach. Pretty minor thing, and doesn't seem to change any dialogue going forward, apart from Lae'zel not knowing about Zorru, but somehow he's still marked on the map when you ask what should you do.

GOD I love this alternate way of recruiting Lae'zel. It's both funny and fulfilling - all things considered.

It is kinda placing a gaping plot hole in game though in how Lae'zel would end up on the beach ON THE MATERIAL PLAIN if you opted to shove her off the Nautiloid ON THE ETHEREAL PLAIN at Avernus, when and IF you can't trigger the glitch after having her die on the ship. Having her die onboard works because she's onboard as the ship crashes, but how could she arrive on the beach if you do the other method?

I had shadow heart dead on the beach on my first run after the patch. She had went down (as did my main) in combat (not dead yet, still making death saves) and then I had Lae'zel reached the transponder and the cutscene played. My character had like 1 hp after the scene.

It's been two weeks since I last posted on here and it actually took me tthis long to get to talk to Zorru... or attempted to talk to him anyway. Glitching Lae'zel causes Zorru unwilling to talk to you even if you put Lae'zel in front to talk to him, he'll just say "Later" as he's too busy. So yeah glitching Lae'zel doesn't come without consequence.
