Selune Outpost - Moonstone ward
Anyone figure out how to disarm it without destroying it? I would love to be able to turn it off and on. I did find that I could open the gate, go into turn based mode and dash out of range before it targeted me but during the battle with the Minotaurs I got pushed off the battlement and into range of the beams and died almost instantly. However, it did do a nice number on both of the Minotaurs that I had lured into the front of the outpost.

climb to tip part of wall on gate then face the statue where the light is and use some archery to shoot the moonstone

I tried exploring around it, tried knocking it off with spells. Doesn't seem to work. However the model changed color from Patch 4 to Patch 5, so the devs are probably thinking about what to do with it.

I think it would be interesting to be able to take the crystal somehow for a quest later on if we meet the Dark Justiciars.

For now, destroying it seems to be the only viable option

I've always shot it with an arrow and it works for me. I've done so as recently as yesterday. mage hand cant reach so destroying it is the only way to go.

Well it's a awesome defense, it would be nice if the stones power was connected to the gate lever (which seems to be the more sensible way for it to be used). I usually destroy it before fighting the Minotaurs, but this time I used combat pause, dashed out and lured the two of them to the gate front and closed the gate. The beams killed one and damaged the other, but I left enough space on the right for it to jump up and knock my main character back down in front of the gate where the beams killed him. Next time, I need to put more stuff on those two sides <grin> so they can't jump.

Hehe nice I also thought of doing this as well...funny that they turned the tables on you but still not a bad strategy.

It seem that you can reach it though - https://imgur.com/a/8yAAhHI

I have found that you can "sneak" past it one at a time. It also doesn't seem to attack us if we start combat with the trolls and run through as it identifies them as hostiles and then since we are fighting them, I think we become friendlies.

Turns out you can use the Sussur bloom to turn it off safely

I haven't found any way to disarm it, but you can easily slip out of the fortress without breaking it, there are some grated windows on one side of the fortress, one has been knocked down, you can walk out and it leads to where some Drow have been Petrified, just watch out for the exploding flowers.
Any reason not just destroy it ?
They should let you take it with the Fly spell.

I was hoping Mage Hand would work but it says "Not Enough Space" when hovering over it.

Bummer. I'm assuming that means the mage hand is too big to get up there.

Every single time I've to use mage hand it's said this. So stupid. They nerf it to once a rest and then nerf it to never even be able to do anything.

I opened the gate and group sneaked past the beams... Maybe the moonstone will be useful later

You can shoot the eyes on the statues to disable the beams for a short time.
