2 Player Couch-Coop on two diffrent Screens?
This was something that bugged me extra hard with Divinity OS2.
I wanted to play with my Wife but the Splitcreen or deviding the Screen in half was not very confortable to play or to look at.

Since alot of people already have multiple screen setup, will this be possible in BG3?
to play on one Computer with each player using one Monitor or Screen for himself?

Yes but you need to have a really good pc for it. You can run two different copies of the game and have each one display on a different screen. Would still need to share a keyboard and mouse unless you have duplicates of those as well. I had done this before but it was to create a custum party. To do this you have to go to the actual executable itself rather than the button in steam to launch the 2nd instance.

Dudes, you're able to brick your hardware like this when running several instances of the game, please proceed with caution. Make sure your PC can handle it & exceeds the recommended settings atleast; reduce the graphic settings to a minimum if you're not sure it can handle it, but still want to try it.

You'd only "brick" your PC if your PC has a serious issue with not being able to dissipate the heat it can generate, and even then not really unless you keep doing it. The PC will shutdown to protect itself from thermal overload.

ok this is somehow a solution if you have a monstrous PC , but i dont think this will be playable on moderate Pc´s.
Would it not be possible for the Developers to enable this without running two instances of the Game?
Im not sure whats possible from a developer standpoint.

I mean in DOS 2 it is already possible but with a splitted Screen you run the Game on one instance and can go individually to diffrent points of the Map.
Cant just enable this with 2 Full Screens?

You do realise you'd still need a monstrous PC, right?

There is a something called Aster multi seat software....it turns your pc into multiple pcs...you have the option to share the gpu between as many running copies as you wish, or you can add any other gpu to your system and separate them per instance...I used this software alot back in the day to run multiple copies of games and play them with friends, you just need extra monitors, and input devices per instance. It performs incredibly well with load balancing everything. if performance is an issue just lower the games graphic settings in each instance to help balance things better. i'm betting even moderate pcs can run up to 3-4 copies like this.

That doesn't change the fact you're running multi instances, which draw more resources, or you're running one instance but out putting to multiple monitors which increases resolution your GPU needs to drive and models/effects it needs to draw.

Everyone has their limits for what they're willing to reduce graphics to in order to run things

I never said that it didn't...reread my comment. Aster handles multi instances better resource wise than windows running 2 instances of a program, it is designed for that purpose. Also if you have a second gpu each instance can have there own gpu not sharing the resources of the individual gpus. I shared that info for anyone wanting a better alternative than just running multiple copies on one instance of windows. Take the advice, don't...i don't care. In my experience with Aster for well over 10 plus years of doing this, it simply handles things better. I tested running 2 instances of Borderlands using one gpu and then using Aster with 1 gpu on both instances of windows....it worked far better than running 2 instances on a single instance of windows. It is designed for exactly this...that's all I clearly said. Good luck...
