(Some spoilers) Connor's Fate
Is there a way to complete the quest without:

1. Snapping the rod
2. Letting the undead go
3. Killing him outright after raising?

Why:

1. Is unsatisfying because then Mayrina can never know that resurrection wasn't possible in the first place so she would blame PC for denying her that option

2. Is plain evil because undead do not have souls of their lives and will continue to decay, a horrible fate to observe for a beloved one

3. Likely the better of these three options, but still pushes the blame on PC

Are there other ways to complete the quest?

- If I just leave the rod be (never pick it up), the quest isn't complete
- Same if I never tell Mayrina about the option with the rod, she will just stand there

And if there are no other options, it would make sense if:

- Cleric PC could turn the undead / destroy it. The difference with killing is that Mayrina is religious (as follows from some of the options during the dialogue) and then the expectation would be that she'd see that the zombie is no longer her husband

- Provided the party still has a true resurrection scroll, put it to good use here and indeed resurrect Connor. Would be all the better if that's done after raising the zombie and killing it - because then it's a moment to show to Mayrina that not all is evil and there's still hope + deter her from seeking help from dubious sources in the future. This would've been the most satisfying option.

Thoughts?

I have yet to be able to kill the hag. She always rolls to go first and clones herself before I can do anything and her clones kill me in 1 or 2 hots. I never have a chance to debuff her before she clones so I know which is real.
However, I thought there was an option to give the staff to Mayrina so she could decide herself.

If you speak to the hag when she's dead & read the letters before talking to Mayrina, you can tell Mayrina that the hag planned to do vile things to the child. She doesn't blame you for anything...
However in regards to Connor, those are the options. You either leave him with her in search for a cure, break the wand, keep the wand, or kill them both. Connor doesn't actually die cus he's already dead.

This is my favorite quest in the game so far because there's no pure good or bad option, it's just superbly muddied shades of Gray. There's no moral highground, no right or wrong decision... Just consequences

I never found letters - I think I will try that. If that's the case then it's the option I'm looking for. And it's also the "good option" because the lie is exposed before doing the evil deed (i.e. raising the dead which should remain dead).

Or wait for the end product when you may find a resurrection scroll and bring him back alive and kicking.

Well it's be great if they include this option, but there are no guarantees of course. I'm all up for "gray areas" and quests "without proper answers", but this one only is such because of artificial restrictions imposed on PC - in a world where resurrection is possible, it's a bit silly to not use it.

Indeed, especially since i just read that it seems resurrection is quite powerful....a max CENTURY OLD...holy hell...:D
It would also be funny, because if you raised him as undead, thereafter i am not sure the resurrection would or should work, since technically you made him undead.

Why can’t we use Gale’s true res scroll on Connor? We can use revivify on him, and the true res on Connor.
There will be more to the story as Connor and mayrina go to BG where you’ll have to help her more from her terrible decision making.

they are heading to baldurs gate so probably finish their little story in act 2

Magic missiles is very useful against the clones. The clones will disappear after they receive any dmg. With MM you can get rid off 3 or 4 clones with one go.
