After all the hype and hope of what we could play, it would be time to talk about what won't be playable.

We were noticed in a wiki about D&D peoples that does not exist in the rules and it was not even marked as HomeBrew.


There is a crossover to "Magic The Gathering" by "Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica", but the chance that these races will come into BG3 is still 0%.
-Aetherborn.
-Aven.
-Khenra.
-Kor.
-Merfolk.
-Naga.

Races that are from "Pathfinder 2e" and are incorrectly mentioned in a D&D Wiki.
-Catfolk.
-Ratfolk.
-Tengu.

You don’t need to be hopeful.


The original D&D "Monster Races" and "Exotic Races" will probably not be playable.

Sorry, there has been so much crazy speculation lately.

But they will still not be playable in BG3.

Even if there is, it's another universe. It's highly unlikely. Even if it's not impossible. Unless they have some real plan to combine the worlds into some consolidated product.

None of these races are in Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica. Those are all homebrew.

^Well, they’re all from other MtG settings.
Anyway, it’s unlikely any of the Ravnica or Theros specific races will show up in BG3. Just like it’s unlikely Warforged will make the jump from Eberron.

That said MtG IS making a D&D crossover set of the Forgotten Realms this year, so there’s a real outside chance we could run into Jace or Chandra or something. It’d be cool to have, like ... Nissa show up as a Druid companion. Casting Awaken on everything.
