FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE ADVANCING ROMANCE WITH GALE. (MAJOR SPOILERS)

After many hours and many characters, I have figured out how to advance Gales romance. I among many others had trouble advancing his romance and was left in the friend zone at the party scene.
i have finallly figured out how to advance Gales romance and thought I would share it here for those having trouble until at least it gets looked into by Larian so the triggers happen the way they should.

First, in order to get the romance scene at the party after saving the Tieflings from the Goblins, you MUST first have gotten a scene where Gale teaches you about the weave and you share a moment of magic together.

My character is a wizard which makes the choices you get during the scene easy but from what I saw in dialog choices you may not need to be a wizard to get the scene and romance him as there are other dialog choices within the scene for wisdom, insight and such to move it forward.
The problem: Most people are missing the triggering of this weave scene at camp.
If you don't get this scene the romance will not progress.

HOW TO GET THE SCENE:
1. gale has different levels of trust. Nuetral, medium, high, very high, exceptional.
2. at each level there are key scenes you get that advance your relationship. If you level up too fast and do not rest at camp you will miss key scenes needed. Gale must die early in game and his protocol done to revive him!!!!
3. It also appears that you must have astarion in your party in the beginning to get the scene at medium trust. The scene you get at medium trust is where Gale should tell you about his need for magical items and consuming them. For many people this is not happening till way later in game and I have found if you must have Astarion in your party to get this scene to play at medium trust.
4. You MUST MUST MUST travel to camp very frequently and you must keep an eye on his trust level so you go to camp and don't miss these scenes when they are supposed to occur.
5. The grove has so many quests that if done correct gain approval from Gale way too fast and that is why people are missing the triggers to the scenes. If he levels too fast and gets too high in approval the scenes wont play correctly.

WHAT I DID TO GET SCENES TO PLAY:
1. recruit Shadowheart then recruit Astarion, then Gale.
2. long rest for night. you will get scene for camp. Talk to Gale and get a scene "Go to Hell" I call it. lol

3. proceed back to area you were and find Lae'zel. Recruit her send her to camp.

4. Take long camp rest and scene will play where Gale looks at mirror image of himself. you will have scene where Gale explains ceramorphosis to you.

5. Now the tricky part. you must watch your trust level and once you hit medium you must travel to camp for end of day in order to get the scene where he tells you about his problem. you may need to travel to camp several times during medium trust to get the scene as other companions have there own scenes as well. After camping after recruiting Lae'zel, I fought at the gates of the camp.

6. Go into the camp and settle argument between Zevlor and the guy who was fighting outside. If you are able to settle it, Gale approves.

7. Agree to help Zevlor by talking to druids. Then save the Girl from Kagha in druid grove.

****VERY IMPORTANT.....Gale must die and you must do his protocol to bring him back early in game in order to get the scene where he tells you about his problem.

8. Go and do things that get approval from Gale only until you are at medium approval. Then you must sleep at camp. (as I said this may take several trips back to camp to get the scene) You can do other activities that wont gain approval like searching the ruins in between visits to camp so his approval does not go higher before he tells you about his problem.

9. Now this is where most people miss the key scene to romance.

10. You must have him at very high approval to get the weave scene that leads to romance. I found an artifact and gave it to him and did some other things like found the dying true soul and killed the parasite that crawls out after the dwarf dies. I also used the tadpole to make the goblins stand down in blighted village. When I was in the blighted village my approval was very high with Gale. I travelled back to camp for the night. Talked to Gale and got the scene with you and he channeling the weave. During this scene if you choose kiss Gale when given the choice of what you want to show Gale then your in solid for romance at the party.

There will be other scenes that play before the party with Gale in between visits to camp after you get the weave scene

I believe that people are missing the scene due to leveling trust too fast and not camping enough. You really gotta camp a lot. I had to camp a couple times when I did not even need to
Basically with every action I did or quest, I slept at camp after..

I believe this will eventually be fixed but until then I hope this helps those who have been frustrated over not getting Gales romance to go forward.

The key is his approval and visiting camp. Do not stay in the grove. your approval will get way too high too fast if you do. That is what was happening to me.

*****HIS ROMANCE IS AMAZING! I hope those having trouble can obtain it by this information. Good luck Gale lovers.

if the game gives you the belief that you need to rush to get rid of the tadpole then why would Gale's romance be based on the player constantly returning to camp? That is at odds with the story.

No wonder why I've never seen any of these Gale conversations that take place in camp. I roleplay a character who feels she needs to rush to get the tadpole out of her head.

Gale's is the easiest to get though you just play as a 'good' char and done lol ^^ I enjoyed his scenes they were good and are completed, no 'work in progress' screens at all :)

I put this out because being good is easy to have Gales approval. but for some reason when you gain approval too fast and don't return to camp often enough, the most important scene for advancing the romance will not play. If you do not get the weave scene then you are stuck at just being his friend. I put a feedback to Larian to look into Gales romance triggers because I believe they should trigger even if you gain approval too fast but right now they will not trigger if you don't gain approval slowly and visit camp very frequently.

it is complicated right now. hopefully they will fix the triggers. just in easy terms watch your trust level and visit camp to sleep alot. make sure Gale dies early in game and you bring him back. dont gain Gales approval too fast. And .......you are welcome. I myself was frustrated. thats why i did this so if it helps at all for anyone that is great and makes me happy.

there actually is a work in progress screen when you actually go and sleep with him it cuts to in progress and then changes to the next morning scene with him. so the actual sex scenes are not done at the moment unless they added more in the new update but i dont think they did.

Gales romance is pretty sweet once you manage to get it to trigger. Once they finish the actual sex scenes I believe it will be really great. It is already very good romance scenes through the game.Act 1. I am excited to see the completed scenes.
