Id love a Kobold companion I can kick around. You know take yer day out on.
Id also be in favor of Kobold companion outside of ´take anger out on´, so far the team "lie, attempt to murder and deceive nonstop " is well below my expectations. Laezel is about the only companion i liked.
But what about Centaur Players?

Nope. You just need to attack the same target as another party member!
Nice

For the record i love Deekin Scalesinger he was so well done character in NWN Shadows of Undrentide, NWN Hordes of the Underdark

Id be 100% up for centaurs aswell, but i dont think thats a possibility - too much trouble with rigging and animating for little pay off - what percentage are centaurs played as? Even if you include a few npcs, its a huge pain in the ass, for very little. Granted, people who are working on models, rigging and animation are different from people who work on say scripting/worldbuilding, its hard to imagine them just sitting on their asses, they'd be cooking up additional animations all over.
Animations that can be easily rescaled -> all existing models use roughly same model in terms of skeleton, with exception for tails. And while for kobolds simply porting halfling animations will do the trick you have to remember that there are dialogs that MIGHT have special interactions meaning people would have to go through all of them again.
As much as we want centaurs to be playable its not really on the menu.

Now if there was some extra funding by some form i dont see why not, ONCE the game is released, but at that point those same people would be working on something new entirely (whatever larian is planning after).

I seriously hope we get playable kobolds. Either through the main game or through a mod.

Dunno. But that doesn't really matter in this case. They are not typical tadpoles. Not supposed to work on dwarves either but they got em.
Safe to say then no chance of becoming mindflayers then. Maybe something else though.
