I'm less keen about rolling for stats, if only because it feels like cheating in Solasta.
no but there is a rolling system n 5th ed. It wouldn't be that hard to have a 4d6 dice roller (dropping the lowest) for each stat. Character creation would take an extra minute or two but it would be cool to have that option.
Think ninja turtle. Has naturally high AC.
A D&D Race, if you had knowledge about it, you would know that, but I guess, you simply enjoy to troll.
Unfortunately that's also my thought. As a D&D player, it's not something I cheat on because it ruins the spirit of the game (I also use my stats as inspiration for my character's personality)
However, for a single player game where I'm the main character, and it's my own time that I'm wasting; I can't deny that I would try to get broken stats that weigh in my favour.
Alternatively they could give us the standard array and let people pick which stat gets what value.
I noticed while building my Cleric that certain stats were capped at certain values with the point buy. If standard array gave me the chance to excel more in an area, at the cost of sucking in others I might have built a less balanced character.
For example, should the developers design encounter difficulty around weak-ish standard array parties, or level 1 supermen with 18-20 in multiple stats?
And what do people do when they're not having fun? They write bad reviews, refund the game, etc., and blame it all on the developers for allowing them to exploit the game. Unfortunately, the general populace can't be trusted to define their own experience without tanking the game's reputation in the process, because they as players did something stupid and unadvised.
If they've overbuilt their character though and take all the fun out of encounters there's not really any way for me to play around that other than to leave and search for a different party... :\
