Nope. Already checked:)
Young ones/summoned ones do not give you ANY xp. Not even one.
Spider Matriarchs spiderlings give you 1 xp though!
And 5 exp for the Matriarch and 5 for any solo phase spider. (Joke!)
Sorry, not sure I follow what you were implying about the ancients? As far as I could tell, each and every mephit was summoning mephits, including the newly summoned mephits.
Ah.
I'll be re-loading this fight a bunch and see if maybe this is just an oddity then.
Exactly.
The ancient mud mephits, summon young mud mephits. Young mud mephits just hurl mud balls at you. And they do not give any XP neither.
But the Ancient Mud Mephits can do that Indefinitely. The ancient mud mephits, well any of which thinks you are in their range, will summon a young mephit. EVERY FRIGGIN TURN! (Their range seems to be around 25-30 meters)
So yes what you described can happen that they spawn about 25 or so young ones. You need to distance yourself a bit then kill the young ones, and then if you are lucky you can kill 1-2 of the ancient ones before the others start to summon again.
It took me a reload(due to damn lot of mephits) and thereafter an hour to kill them. Was not in danger, but the infinity spawn, can mess you up depending on what level you get there. And what tactic you use.
OK yeah. My initial experience I was a bit confused as I can now confirm that ONLY Ancients do the summoning, and YES it is an every turn option for them as opposed to the 1/Day in the book.
I want to say this is a bug and not a feature for the Ancients? Either way, it makes this fight extremely annoying and meh.
Yeah. Especially since their is no reward for the young ones. No items, no xp no nothing. But you can spend your whole night killing mephits:)
At least the phase spiderlings give 1 xp. Though i would say they are stronger than the young mud mephits too.
That is false otherwise your game is bugged.
