Sometime after the betrayal of his compatriots, in the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, Edwin had a complete falling out with the Red Wizards of Thay and traveled south. He settled in Athkatla, the capital city of Amn under the rule of the Cowled Wizards, a dangerous home to be for an arcane spellcaster. Edwin joined with the Shadow Thieves, under Mae'Var, a leader of one of the smaller guildhalls. During this time Edwin sought out one of the lost Nether Scrolls, an ancient artifact of immense arcane power, which he believed to rest in the dungeons deep beneath a tomb in the city's graveyard district.[2]

to be never sean after again.

he is dead.

He's either dead, since this is 100 years after the fact, or he's a liche, since he's a Red Wizard of Thay and he's risen up in the ranks and was taught to be one.

What's this? Wasn't he turned into a woman again when fighting with Elminster and settled as a bitter tavern owner somewhere? I recall smth like this in BG2 ending slides.

It's a tidbit about his endeavors before BG2, nothing after it though. Haven't you played it? You meet him at the thieves guild under Mae'Var and his personal quest involves searching for the said scroll. The scroll that turns him into a woman with hilarious VO. The only ending known for him is the ending slide at the end of the Throne of Bhaal expansion.
So basically, if there is nothing new then he was a female tavern keeper until the end of his days, lol.

Yes. But its cause she was giving evil a bad name. You need to have class! Style! proper evil overlord deco and all that! Not align with goblins! Pft!

(Went from CG to LE. Heh!)

Actually I'd rather have a lying evil charlatan such as Edwin in BG3 instead of Wyll and Gale with their ridiculous over the top backgrounds that they take too seriously. There needs to be a comic relief character, or two. Sadly Larian just doesn't get comedy right, maybe it's the Belgian thing going for superficial silliness.

But... I love their humour! I wish we had more of their old style Divine Divinity jokes :)

Back to Edwin. He’s evil. And annoying. And dead by Bhaalspawn 🤪

He wasn't insane, he was a Red Wizard

Do all Red Wizards talk to themselves? Or did he have an invisible friend? Are you sure he wouldn’t be better off in a white robe?
