I hope they do eventually, because the standard human is pretty horrible at everything. It's in the PHB, so hopefully we'll see it.

it's really not, not compared to all the racial traits of the other classes.

Humans don't get dark vision, or any unique racial trait, the feat takes the place of a racial trait.

The most popular tabletop race in MY PC game? Are you insane?!

Hopefully it’ll be added. Humans are pretty bland right now.

There's already a mod for it, just go grab it.

and its not like you need dark vision anyways can always use someone eles to see for you in a PC Game or just use a torch or some such thing. Not like this game has a Day/Night Cycle eather ...
yeah Varient Humans are the most popular for a number of reasons in D&D 5E, one of which is being OP in the Early levels coz Feats where super strong/Powerful/OP
Only race to get a feat at level 1, Eveyone eles has to wait a few levels for it, Aka I Rather take something i can 100% Use all the time usefulness then something like Dark Vision i can get around easy peezy Even more so in the later levels.
is it me, or is this incoherent? cannot tell if he is arguing for or against variant human, whether or not not he is dismissing darkvision, or saying it is super useful racial trait that humans do not have?

Huh? It's the only thing Humans have.

Barrelmancy.... Great thing to whine about. Like its so super super hard to decide to not use barrels if you dont want to.

The feat for a variant human is an equalizer to other races racial traits.

Dwarves- Darkvision, resistant to poison, proficient with battleaxes and warhammers, +2 to con, subraces get that and an ability score increas to one other stat.

elves - Darvision, +2 to dexterity, cannot be charmed or put to sleep, proficient with longswords and longbows, proficient in perception, subraces change some weapon proficiencies.

Halflings - +2 dex, advantage against frightened, lucky, Subraces get an ability score increase to one other stat

Humans - normal - +1 to all ability scores or the variant - 1 feat, and +1 to two ability scores of your choice. two additional skill proficiency.

I can go on with the other races, but I am sure you all get the picture.

Humans cannot be that skull smashing cleric weilding a warhammer without taking the martial weapon feat, or a specific domain

Humans cannot be that dex based wizard weilding a longbow trapsing about the underdark unhindered by darkness without taking a feat

Humans do not have any racial resistances.

IMHO, the variant human is no better or worse then any of the other races, but is harder to min/max for players that like to metabuild, I do not think any metabuilder would choose either human options for thewir metabuilds.
