[SPOILER] Temple of Selune and Perception fail

I've played a couple of times and never had this happen. I got to the Temple of Selune and the puzzle room. None of my four characters made their Perception checks meaning the release mechanism wasn't found. I can still call on Lae'zel (once I fight my way back into the temple - it's a long story) but if she were to fail her check, what happens? Is there another way into the Underdark? If 'yes' I think I know where but it's going to cause me a lot of grief battling through!

You can use a pet(Wyll's, Gale's or MC's) and have them check. If they fail, resummon them and the new summon gets a check. Rinse/repeat until check passes.

There is also 2 other entrances to UD.

There are multiple entrances to the underdark, so if you fail the perception you'll just have to look elsewhere. When I did my first playthrough I didn't even know the Selune temple was a thing lol

I suspect one of those ways means battling a mother of spiders.

If you wanna do Underdark early (there's some good stuff down there), I jump down the well in Blighted Village to Whispering Depths, from there jump into oblivion (use Feather Fall!) to Underdark

I did mark this as a spoiler. Yes, the puzzle but don't worry it's really quite simple.

I had the same issue, but by that time I had already noticed that your summoned friends (wolf, spiders for sure, bear, boar) have a skill check as well. So if all of your party memebers missed a check, just summon a friendly spider to help ! I'm pretty sure you can spam the skill check by spawning a new one again and again. ^^ Quite helpful !

And if you happen to not have anyone with this skill, try to buy a scroll of it, and have Gale learn it. :)
