Weird hostility bug
I've encountered an odd bug in my game, and I am wondering if anyone else has. For some reason, any time I have a follower for my PC my party is immediately thrown into combat, regardless of any actual enemies showing in initiative or on the map. I have full control over the follower, and when highlighting them with an attack, they stay blue as an ally does. But they cause threatened status to the other characters, as well as make attacks of opportunity on each other.
This happened for the first time when I was staring to attack the Goblin Camp. I had an imp as my PC warlock's familiar, and once I had finished off the goblins in the gateway combat did not end. I took several turns trying to figure out why combat was still going, even though there were no enemies. Until I had someone run by my imp and the bugger took a swing at them. So I killed the imp and then combat ended. Then immediately after summoning another imp for my familiar, combat started up again. So I killed it, and tried the crow familiar, and once again combat until I killed the familiar.
I had forgotten about the whole thing until I ended up in the Underdark, and got the myconid sovereign to join for a quest, and once again went into combat. I could control his movement and everything like before, but he took attacks of opportunity against anyone of my characters who walked past.

It is so annoying and frustrating that I think I'll have to abandon that run (about 15 hours in).

Sounds like a bug in the imp, it sees it as an enemy on the screen in the code. I’ve had no problems with familiars or beast companions on my ranger.

Had the same with the Imp: he died in battle and after the battle ended I immediately recasted him to get him back. From that point on ANY familiar was hostile. (Luckily for me the fight it happened in was the Duergar fight with Glut, so already completed his mission)

It is not a bug with the familiar, it is a bug with your character or a party member. I had same issue with my imp. Also had the the Connor Zombie summon from the Auntie Ethel "Bitter Divorce" dagger, same thing. But if I gave the dagger to Gale and had him summon the Zombie, no issues. Only resolution I found was to go back to a save point before the bug. I have narrowed the cause down to two possible interactions: 1) having your familiar start the fight with dialog (this happens frequently if you are like me an use the imp to scout ahead) . 2: Using
"fairy fire" or some other aoe debuff that affects your familiar and remains ticking after all combat enemies are dead. Hope that helps.

just had this happen with Oathbreakers Control Undead. it turned the entire party hostile to my character even after dying and resurrecting.

Can't believe this hasn't been addressed in a patch yet. Any companion my main character has is aggro to the rest of the party. I've had so many issues from summoning elementals and temporary people joining the party and had to reload saves, stop using summoning spells, and use other characters to initiate temporary companions joining up. At the end of the game now and freeing Orpheus has caused Kithraks group to attack me because they see him as a threat. How wrong is that?

Are you using that item that makes them impervious to damage, but mad?
