FYI: warlocks don't get a lot of spells and you normally want to conserve them so you can hex / blast instead. hex adds d6 to blast and running out of hex is an immediate long rest need.
you can also see if its a bug due to no spell slots. Try camping, the try putting it back. It may try to prevent putting it back if you can't use it currently.
I wish I could make my action bar 1-2 lines taller...
Thing is, I don't have a crowded action bar for my warlock. There are 9 open spaces. -_- I don't know how it ended up down there.
And, yea, I use hex and Blast on most things. I didn't really see any other spells worth taking at level 4 though...
What would you guys say is the best melee weapon for warlock? I'm using the dragons grasp axe at the moment...
That action bar needs to go. When you're higher level and the number abilities that need to be on that bar increases, it's not going to work. There definitely needs to be some kind of redesign, particularly for upgraded spells (when you can cast level 5 spells and have 6 level 1 spells that can be upgraded that's 30 slots just for level 1 spells).
For melee, a warlock should just disengage and use Eldritch Blast. With your stats, you want a finesse weapon, so not a hand axe. With proficiency in only simple weapons, I suppose a +1 dagger is the best you can use. You could use the Sussur Bark dagger, when you eventually get around to crafting it. Until they add Pact of the Blade and Thirsting Blade, Warlocks should stay out of melee.
depends on the warlock race a little.
You should never use a weapon in combat. hex+blast (I assume you also add CHA bonus to blast from level 2 thing) is going to out-damage any build, even a strong (14?) gith 2h greatsword build (why would you do this... lol?). So your weapon should instead provide a spell cast or the like utility. Even the create water weapon has uses.
edit: there is a melee path for the class later. that is a new can of worms. But given this specific game and how it seems to work, that does not seem like the best choice due to the game favoring ranged attacks so heavily. We will know when it happens, though.
I really wish a warlock could learn spells. but that would require intelligence lol.
Also, how do you disengage? I see it when enemies do it but I apparently missed that in game.
And yes, something needs to be done with the action bar, it's a hot mess...
