All the characters so far appear to be bisexual in the game. The forgotten realms isn't so weird about sex as real life is. No one really cares what people do in the privacy of a bedroom. Sexual repression and condemning certain sexual practices between two consenting adults wasn't really a thing until christianity came about in Roman times. So in the forgotten realms it never really was a thing. Plus people in the forgotten realms seem to have way bigger problems than worrying if someone is gay, bi, or straight and having to pigeonhole people into one category.

That is an anacrhonism. In the real world we have come to care less about sex and what people do in their bedrooms because of birth control. In a world without birth control people care much more because any sexual intercourse could lead to pregnancy.

Gayness was also a big part of greek armies. No families for soldiers to worry about and loving your bros makes you fight harder.

You can make a vampire character. Just let your player character contract Vampirism. I am sure vampire will eventually be added as a starter race for the character creator, but until then you still have an option to play as a vampire MC.

Even it has happened in 2020, but some of the players still curious about what is exactly happening and to be the reason there is a rumor comes out about his gay.
At that time he became the massive role-playing gaming rumor. The public, especially his companions are shocked. He just came out with his bad rumor which is spread massively. This time is not about his vampire undeath, but his bad rumor.
The rumor is out of standardize of hoax, according the last reported this rogue revealed himself as homosexual. Do you still believe or not, this rumor is really much talked by people even in a person of his fans.

It seems like big studios allow both hetero and ♥♥♥♥ relationships. They need as many gamers as they can, since their bills are inherently bigger with these big releases. So, romance who you want, we can't judge because we romance who we want as well.

Or you can rp like I do. The last thing my characters need is romance when they've got a tadpole in their eye and a devil on their shoulder. I just stick to business, but I guess I'm just boring that way. :D

There's a current bug with petting the dog and also rezzing a companion via the Undead Ghoulie where you can get infinite +companion rep, but not sure you can romance Shadow as a Gith without those, for example.

Astarion plus WarForged is going to be a toughy as well, given he kinda wants your bluuuud not your oil / sap, and that's a conditional for launching his sexy times stuff.

There might be others, we simply don't know yet.


But yes: Bioware 'playersexual' is a bane of good writing. No sexual tension without limits, otherwise it's meaningless.
