Burning Hands Spell
It is horizontal edit:trapezoid shaped in BG3 but in Solasta it is cone shaped. Compare it by yourself, Devs. No comment...

edit: line is not the right word. Trapezoid fits. I am not native english speaker.

It is cone in Pathfinder Kingmaker as well

Haven't tried Burning Hands here but I'll take your word for it

It's a cone in BG3, I just tried it out. Maybe you have a bug.

It is not cone it is "2D horizontal Trapezoid". Cone is 3D horizontal and vertical shaped. You cant select upper and same level targets with that spell on a stair.

look to Solasta's Burning Hand please

Pathfinder dont even have upper and lower ground. It is isometric, so no it doesnt have naturally.

Fair enough, you're right. In a game where height is a factor it should be a 3 dimensional shape. I assumed the floor pattern was a guide to where the 3d cone would go but if it doesn't affect enemies somewhat higher up then that's bad. Hopefully 3 dimensional spell effects are on the list of things yet to be implemented

burning hands and also the other spell that pushes multiple enemies back - those are terrible as soon as theres any height disparity at all

dunno if intended or not , verticality also takes range.

but other spells with terrible range can alleviate the short range with huge height advantage ; not burning hands or the pushback spell tho.

*my 3m spells become 18ish m spells with enough height ; but some spells dont follow that rule for some reason.

I agree, mathematical corrections have to be made in mentally right of course. Thank you for addition.
