Fair enough, you're right. In a game where height is a factor it should be a 3 dimensional shape. I assumed the floor pattern was a guide to where the 3d cone would go but if it doesn't affect enemies somewhat higher up then that's bad. Hopefully 3 dimensional spell effects are on the list of things yet to be implemented
dunno if intended or not , verticality also takes range.
but other spells with terrible range can alleviate the short range with huge height advantage ; not burning hands or the pushback spell tho.
*my 3m spells become 18ish m spells with enough height ; but some spells dont follow that rule for some reason.
