Autosave Frequency

Is there a setting I'm missing to boost the frequency of autosaving? I lost like an hour of gameplay the other night because my cat knocked out my power. After getting lost in a forest I did eventually get back to where I was.

There's a setting to increase the number of autosaves that are kept, not the number of autosaves that occur. They only happen once per area, and sometimes around important story events. The only solution to OP's problem is to take up quicksaving.

It's miss-labelled autosave, it's not autosave, it's checkpoint save.

It saves at checkpoints the first (and only the first) time you reach them.

Get used to pressing F5 a lot.

Press F5 every 60 seconds or so. This is your "quicksave" key. Press it before every encounter, entering a room, any decision, and also make a more traditional save game every so often, so you can fall back on that if something still goes wrong.

It's EA, if you save in the wrong spot the game won't even load for some people.

Not sure if anybody still needs it, but I made a program that quick saves automatically after a set interval that you can choose.

If I had a keystroke logger running my game would consist of 50% f5 keystrokes, just because of how often and how completely my game crashes. I'm particular about doing it right after I loot every box in sight, just sos I don't have to duplicate that effort because my game crashed after I rotated a camera too quickly.
