I think you mean : the same way you free La'zael ? I just tried : the bottom of cage does break without blowing him up, but he launches a scream as if he was falling into the crevasse behind him.
He still "lives", he stays standing where his cage used to be, but when I try to talk to him the game sais "too far to reach", so I think the game considers he felt to his death. Maybe we can't just save him yet, or what I witnessed is a bug and we should be able to speak to him ?
I did it still in patch2 but I expected that this bug having him still in the air might be fixed somehow in patch3...
Fair enough. :D
If you'd read my thread : I DID use the key the second time and the cage blowed. Not to mention than you should have deducted by yourself that I HAD INDEED TALKED TO HIM, as I mentionned him as "the goblin who still worships his old god", so yes, I talked to him, and know about his story, but he never mentionned WANTING to stay in the cage to me. So thanks for your useless (and almost haughty) answer.
It is entirely possible to save this goblin and doing so can get Shadowheart inspiration. If you want inspiration you should first pursue the conversation with the prisoner, then make sure any nearby guards are dead (I did so after killing most of the goblins in the entire fortress). Then you need to unlock the door, which can be done with a key or lockpick. BUT DO NOT OPEN IT YET you need to perceive the trap first...have a character with good perception around, maybe with guidance on them, and once you have found the trap you can disarm it. Now you can finally open the door, the goblin will jump free, thank you in a short cutscene conversation, and then run off. You will then receive the inspiration for Shadowheart: "Saving the heretic".
Thank you for the solution!
he will thank you.
