Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3

Where are the towns, cities, and taverns?
Act 1 is a 1/3 of the game world. Do we get any towns, cities? Beregost, Nashkel? Taverns? Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 gave you a sense of a true adventure. This feels like large playgrounds rather than a world.

There's druid groove, goblin village and Myconid colony. There are also several areas with ruins and dungeons.
I have it on good authority that there will be a large city called "Baldur's Gate" in the game.
Yeh, you're supposed to have travelled for miles in game but you just don't feel it at all, it feels like you walked for 5 mins down a path to the next gimmick fight.

It very much fails to recapture the freedom of the older games.

I don’t really care for the spirit of the older games but the world feels extremely small.
I dunno, I was always under the impression that this all happens in a very small area near the crash site. As it seems everyone either knows of it or is from it with their own special brain devouring friends. The jarring nature of having so many different things so close in proximity was just bad world building and pacing on the part of an extremely inexperienced DM who was too married to another game system they knew better.
If it's taverns you are looking for have a pop in Bards Tale ;)

Big Worlds are only good if there is content in them I remember MMO you could walk 2 hours without getting near content except mobs

Now you said its small and I think about it your right but don't want that content spread thinner other a bigger area. If our calling for more content well heck yes Sir i'll march with you.
Yah, stinking tree lovers have no tavern. So not expected in any D&D world model - lol
They are in dungeons and dragons games. This is Divinity. Large round map with various pockets of outcasts and a long winding path is your lot here.
The tavern got burned down. Darn drow.

I am also beyond sure Baldurs Gate will be in, half the people you meet want to go there or want to meet you there.

i kinda miss the feeling i got when i first entered the first tavern in dos2 (where youll eventually be offered to bang a lizard if you so wish).

didnt have nearly the same cool feeling anywhere in bg3 so far.

*to be fair the tavern im talking about was in act2 and we only have access to act1 in bg3.

I just miss having a decent merchant where I can buy the basic weapons and armors that I want to use.
There's one in the druid grove, only lacks good heavy armours and half plate but I guess those have been held back for some reason.
What ever happened to "Generic fantasy town with a blacksmith, a magic shop, and a tavern" in modern games? Feels like everyone is trying to be too clever for their own good.

Its a classic.
Not only is this early access. But it's just act one. And a pretty small act one. The final game has the potential to be huge. I think there will probably be a tavern somewhere.
