Gauntlgrym the dwarven city is basically like Moria. It's even been overrun by various forces in the past from drow to duergar. Though by the time this game takes place it has been reclaimed by Bruenor Battlehammer the current ruler of Gauntlgrym
Balor and Halflings are the things that changed after the lawsuit due to copyrights issues with Lord of the Rings, a long time ago.
Looks like 5e nerfed them quite a bit.
There's a Spectator you can release in one of the quests, would that count?
thats the real question. I feel like there isnt enough Beholders these days. I see them teased a lot in other games and such but I don't think I've actually encountered a Beholder in a game in quite awhile.
They may come later, I mean you really wouldn't wanna face one with a party of 4 people at level 4.
also one out in the wild. But spectators are to beholders as cats are to lions.
Fun 3 way fight though with the Drow
